Graham A Sher Art and Animation: December 2010
http://greyhammeranimation.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Dec 21, 2010. This is a big one. I regularly listen to a podcast called 'WTF'. Hosted by comedian Marc Maron. I'd go as far as to say it's my favorite podcast on the whole darn internet. I love it mainly for its host, Mr. Marc Maron himself. He's got a wonderful rapport with all his guests and I appreciate his perspective on the world and his way with words. A while back I was listening to an episode that really caught my attention. First up, here's the actual piece:. Here's the initial character comp:.

Graham A Sher Art and Animation: August 2011
http://greyhammeranimation.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Aug 11, 2011. I decided to polish up my recent sketch of the martian character and present the final piece to the guy who inspired it, Marc Maron of WTF. I finally had a chance to see him do stand-up live, so it was a perfect chance to hand him the painting in person. The show was great, and I was flattered when, afterwords, he told me he remembered the animation I'd done for him last Christmas. I printed out a second copy for myself so I could get his autograph. So sneaky. Posted by Graham A Sher.

Graham A Sher Art and Animation: April 2014
http://greyhammeranimation.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Apr 24, 2014. I've been pushing myself to draw more people lately. It's too easy to fall back on sketching monsters and animals, and they're not nearly as challenging as designing an appealing-looking human character. I referenced quite a few cartooning, pinup, and figure drawing tutorials and sketched like crazy. Eventually I came up with something I thought was pretty appealing. Here's my initial sketch:. Graham A Sher Art and Animation: February 2015
http://greyhammeranimation.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Feb 28, 2015. Yep, another fish. I enjoyed the problem-solving of my last piece, the barracuda, and wanted to try that all again. Now that I had one picture under my belt I figured I could do a better job if I went for it again. That turned out to be mostly true, but there was still some back-and-forth with the smaller choices. Like always, I started with some sketches. These were easier to produce because I was kinda already in 'fish mode'. Posted by Graham A Sher. Feb 23, 2015. I was kinda sick of look...

Graham A Sher Art and Animation: Greedo!
http://greyhammeranimation.blogspot.com/2015/02/greedo.html
Feb 1, 2015. Out of nowhere I'd gotten the urge to sketch some tertiary Star Wars characters. A lot of them have such fun designs, and thanks to the popularity of the franchise, reference materials are really easy to get. The character that interested me the most was Greedo. At first it was just some line art that I cleaned up, but I liked it enough to paint it. Who, as always, helped me persevere through the most frustrating parts. Sometimes the best solution for a roadblock is a second set of eyes.
