Jen Michalski Blog: Catchy. Thursday, October 28, 2004. Posted by Jen @ 9:20 PM. Tuesday, October 26, 2004. Eternal Cloudiness of the Confused Mind. We saw a couple of good films this weekend: Saved! I probably could have said that better, and maybe I can later. I've been thinking today of Charlie Kauffman-esque story lines to write, but I can't. The only thing I've thought of remotely resembling Charlie Kauffman is that the indicator of whether or not we're really attractive and likeable would b...That'...

Jen Michalski Blog: Catchy. Thursday, September 30, 2004. Did we feel this was somehow less embarassing than the little geriatric pill boxes you can get for free at the pharmacy? Posted by Jen @ 9:00 PM. Wednesday, September 29, 2004. Part of me wants a simple life in a shack on the mountain somewhere (but not in Deep Creek, where 1- and 2-million dollar homes butt up against religious fanatics and their trailers). Somewhere progressive but simple, the places that are always featured in Utne Reader.

Jen Michalski Blog: Catchy. Wednesday, June 30, 2004. Hmm, David Bowie's Low. Over the Clash's London Calling. As the best album of the seventies. My favorite Bowie next to Hunky Dory. But someone I don't think the decade was characterized by "Sound and Vision" or "Always Crashing the Same Car." Come on, guys, give Joe Strummer his due. South Park did the other night on "Chef Aid.". Posted by Jen @ 10:06 AM. Monday, June 28, 2004. And That Was Then, This Is Now. Was the strongest and Rumblefish. We have ...

Jen Michalski Blog: Catchy. Friday, February 27, 2004. This review for Courtney Love's new album. Is almost as bad as the one they gave to Liz Phair (although Liz Phair, as far as I know, is the only artist to have ever received double donuts). Posted by Jen @ 2:26 PM. There was a time when I'd have sold my first as-yet-born child to see The Pixes. Now I'd probably rather babysit someone's kids while they went to see them. Remember the bands that really blew you away in the nineties? Hey, is Maureen Dowd.

Jen Michalski Blog: Catchy. Thursday, April 29, 2004. The spring issue of JMWW. I was reading an excerpt in a print literary journal about the quality/death of modern short fiction, but I think that the journals themselves help perpetuate this sort of homogenous voice that writers tend to mistakingly submit (myself included). Open any Best American Short Stories. Posted by Jen @ 9:25 AM. Posted by Jen @ 9:21 AM. Tuesday, April 27, 2004. Attended the aborton rights march on Sunday- all I can say is wow!

Jen Michalski Blog: Catchy. Friday, January 30, 2004. Will the snow ever go away? I may also revisit my ELF-like terrorist organization/Chuck Palanuik novel. I feel weird not writing a novel now that I've finished The Accidentals. It was always something to work on between stories, so maybe I'll treat the ELF novel the same way and the research/development won't seem so intimidating. I have a couple of t-shirts from college that I still own. Posted by Jen @ 1:44 PM. Sunday, January 25, 2004. I still worr...
