Traveling adventures with gremlins and sailboats. Savannah to Amiela Island to St Augustine. On 01 Jan 2015 we left the dock and said goodbye to Savannah. With a beautiful sail down the coast, I pulled into Amelia Island around midnight and picked up a mooring ball. I had a day to rest before new crew arrived on the boat. As always I had to go to The Happy Tomato and get some of my favorite BBQ. Thanks for checking out the blog- I LOVE hearing from you! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dan and Cath's ...

Gremlin's Hammer: Charleston to Savannah

Traveling adventures with gremlins and sailboats. On 27 Dec 2014 we departed CHS heading further down the coast. At around 2200 the Hammer inched her way into a quite spot to anchor beside of the USMC base in Port Royal, SC. At first light the anchor was up but not before the Marines. Upon return to the boat I found the party. A stage was built very close to the docks. A band was playing, people were celebrating with open containers, and fireworks. What's a party without fireworks? Savannah, you ROCK!

Traveling adventures with gremlins and sailboats. The Treaty of Paris. Was signed in Annapolis and officially ended the Revolutionary War (until 1812 of course). Annapolis is a sailors dream. I have been there for the boat show that is in October. I totally prefer non-boat show time. The city had a warm energy welcoming me to eat, drink, and make friends. See how I just combined my new friends with some history? Links to this post. No sooner did I creep under the first bridge and round the corner did I s...

Gremlin's Hammer: Wilminton to Charleston
http://www.gremlinshammer.com/2015/04/wilminton-to-charleston.html
Traveling adventures with gremlins and sailboats. On 22 Dec 2014 I left Wilmington in great spirits. The vessel was preforming well and my soul was happy. The plan was to sail down the Cape Fear River, enter the Atlantic, hang a right, then sail overnight to CHS. Everything was going to plan until nightfall. The heavy fog was not part of the master plan. During the fog I would switch back from radar (did I spell that backwards? To AIS. It was nice to be able to see and be seen. Red Pill or Blue Pill.
