Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: February 2015
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Lenten organization is going well, but it's not daily. Some days I come into the house and barely have time to cook and eat before running out the door again. I've signed on for a little singing gig that lasts for another week. Then I might feel a big more free. Also some projects take more than a day. This is one of them. Besides some cleaning, and donating unused items to Goodwill, this shelf above the window has helped to clear up some space in the kitchen. A much simpler ...

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: April 2014
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 1, 2014. I don't actually call myself a blogger anymore because it's just too sad to see this empty space. However, if you're following the blog, this may be the best place to tell you. I got a job! Not that I haven't been working every year of my life. I've done all sorts of things in the last few years, including editing, formatting, designing corporate stationery, administration, invigilating (proctoring) exams, reception and writing notes. But here's the thing. I have teenagers....

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: March 2015
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Still lent, right? I'm still trying to do a bit of organizing, but we've been a little busy around here. This was a little project that started last summer already when we found a little medicine cabinet at a garage sale. Laura and I had a vision for it, but had to wait for the room to be finished. Now it is done and the smaller finishing touches can be worked on. First we painted the old white with a metallic spray paint. Leftover paint from the clawfoot tub project. After Chr...

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: Patterns
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2015/03/patterns.html
Monday, March 2, 2015. Alice and I just finished a game of Carcasonne. I love the little roads, rivers and farms. I think every piece is just slightly different, making it fun to look at the final picture. Besides the nice landscape that it makes, it's a bonus that it's actually fun to play! It's one of the few games we have that takes very little setup, little strategic thought and only two consenting players are required. In a house where we're all busy, that's a very good thing. I love that thing!

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: September 2014
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. Cheer in the rain. I was reading another blog where the author quoted a poet who said that "autumn was hard to take straight". Sunflowers are meant to be enjoyed in the moment, taken straight. Even in the rain, sunflowers are the more cheerful flowers, aren't they? The very last of my flowers and the most showy of them all. I'm not looking forward to winter quite yet, but I'm going to enjoy these happy signs of autumn. Saturday, September 27, 2014. In this case, I don't even t...

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: Chemicals and guck
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2015/02/chemicals-and-guck.html
Saturday, February 21, 2015. Again no before picture. Give me a break. I'm working full time and trying to get a few things done without trying to take artsy photos of everything as I go. And I couldn't have taken a good photo of this anyway. Under the sink. Blech! Full of yucky stuff and there was a bag of bags that constantly pushed the cupboard door open. I hate open cupboard doors. Laura and Alice helped after school. We threw out old phone books and gross BBQ tools. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: January 2015
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 5, 2015. Spurred on by Laura's birthday and our promise to get her into her own bedroom by then, we worked very hard tonight and are so close! Come on a tour with me. This is Laura's bedroom door. Open the door to see Laura's paintwork. And in a rectangular room with little in the way of architectural detail, we did a little something on the ceiling for a bit of interest. And the bare lightbulb? I wish I had this light in my closet. It had felt so small as we were working on it and measur...

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: August 2013
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 27, 2013. A Day in the Jurassic Jungle. Once upon a time, there was a family. A family of four, the eldest having moved away to a more exciting future on a lake. With power boats. We couldn't compete with that level of excitement. Or so we thought! Having ventured far from home on dusty roads, we discovered a hidden, secret gate. What secrets did it hold? Why were the bars so large and menacing? Hmm, it's that the length of the apatosaurus' femur, I think I might be easy prey myself!

Life, Times and Thoughts of Ev: September 2013
http://achaoticlifestyle.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 11, 2013. A Biking Adventure with Ev. Every year I try to ride my bike more. This year I've hit a new record because I'm trying to ride to work once a week, which is about 20 km round trip. If my mind could project it's thoughts to you as I ride, this is what yesterday's ride would have sounded like on my way home. I'm so glad to be out in the fresh air instead of sitting in a car. 30 degrees in September! I didn't have to find a parking spot this morning. Gloria had to arrive. But I...
