Monday, November 17, 2008. Day 6 - Tofino to Victoria - From nature to man-made wonders. This was a big travel day for us - a 5 hour drive from Tofino to Victoria. We stopped at the other side of Cathedral Grove. Look at the big tree! I love this photo - doesn't the forest look primeval? I said that word probably 30 times on this trip! A teeny tiny mushroom. Sunday, November 16, 2008. Day 5 - Tofino - Hiking and recharging. We were worried about the weather on Day 5, because rain was in the forecast. But we awoke to no rain that morning! Here's the view from the windows of our room. The B&B owner told us that there are usually bears back here, but we didn't see any during our stay. I am so excited to eat breakfast in my pajamas! We went back to Chesterman Beach, where we got drenched the night before. It was so incredibly beautiful! A lone paddle surfer.

Saturday, November 22, 2008. Day 7 - Victoria - Fish and chips. finally! One of the places I wanted to see while in Victoria was Butchart Gardens. I was worried that with us going so late in the fall was the flowers would be sad. :(. We got there early enough so there were barely any other people. Rob loved the old style maps. I shouldn't have been worried - from our first view of the sunken gardens, we were amazed by the color and variety of all the plants. The fall colors were definitely in full force!

Thursday, October 19, 2006. I'm going to prom! Sam is taking me to the prom this year.how exciting. Even though it's 10 years too late, we are going as an 80s prom couple for halloween this year. I already put an order in for an 80s wig. And now I just have to find a nice poofy dress. Can't wait. Here's a website for some totally rad 80s makeup looks. Saturday, November 19, 2005. This sock was a real learning experience. Lots of false starts, lots of tearing out, but I think that the next one will go a lot more smoothly because of it! My final snafu (hopefully the last one, at least! Was that my bind off was way too tight. But problem solved, and I have a nice, wearable sock that fits! Now I just have to make another. Monday, November 06, 2006. Er, so I never did get better about posting here. Oh well. That's partially because up until recently I hadn't been doing much knitting. Just wasn't feeling it I guess. But lately I have been knitting up a storm! I finished the watermelon socks (yay my first pair of finished socks! But haven't had a chance to take a nice picture yet, so that update'll have to wait. In other news though:. It's a near-finished honeymoon cami! It's neat to see how it comes out as you go.

Therefore, I'm now going to try and get the honeymoon cami done by graduation, so I can wear it under my robes if it looks good. Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Here's a photo of the actual ceremony which took place at the hotel's outdoor gazebo. It was close to sunset and the sun was very, very bright. Anna and Jacob were very patient during this Buddhist wedding. Aileen and Koji drank from sake cups as part of the ritual (which were actually filled with 7-up or water I believe, since they don't drink alcohol). Today was the fourth consecutive day that I ran on the treadmill and I wasn't horribly out of breath and I didn't experience any knife-stabbing pains in my chest! Fantastic. Sunday, March 18, 2007. The Shins at MSG. On Wednesday, March 14th, the Shins. Played their biggest live show at Madison Square Garden and they were AMAZING! The songs were performed really well, the background visuals and light fit the mood of each song perfectly, and I got to share this wonderful experience with Sam. So you can say it was a pretty perfect evening.except that I couldn't get a tshirt or vinyl because I didn't have any cash. Well at least I have the memories.and photos :). Turn on a Square.
