Math Geek Coder: Ctrl . - My favourite shortcut

http://mathgeekcoder.blogspot.com/2008/07/ctrl-my-favourite-shortcut.html

Software Development, Math and Random Thoughts. Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Ctrl - My favourite shortcut. I'm a huge keyboard shortcut fan (for a windows developer). for common tasks it's just annoying to have to grab the mouse. For me, one such task was the rename / resolve support in Visual Studio:. Using the mouse to bring up this dialog has got to be the most frustrating task in Visual Studio. A few months ago, I stumbled on Ctrl . and to my delight ended my coding frustration. Math Geek Coder: February 2008

http://mathgeekcoder.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Software Development, Math and Random Thoughts. Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Pronounced "Oiler") provides a number ( 182) of challenging math/programming problems. which is a fantastic environment to play with F#! I've only completed 6% of the questions but I've already learnt a lot. (F# is huge). If you have some free time (or get bored during your compiles), I'd definitely recommend having a go - in your own language of choice of course! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Math Geek Coder: Structure Inlining with .Net 3.5 SP1

http://mathgeekcoder.blogspot.com/2008/07/structure-inlining-with-net-35-sp1.html

Software Development, Math and Random Thoughts. Friday, August 1, 2008. Structure Inlining with .Net 3.5 SP1. I just stumbled on. A fascinating performance improvement coming up in .Net 3.5 SP1. When working with value types (structs) the JIT currently hits the stack each time you access a field - which is quite inefficient. In SP1 they've added an algorithm called value type scalar replacement; which intuitively does exactly what it sounds like! Take the following code:. Pointx = v;. Pointy = v * 2;.

Math Geek Coder: Bing! - My Claim to Fame

http://mathgeekcoder.blogspot.com/2009/07/bing-my-claim-to-fame.html

Software Development, Math and Random Thoughts. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. My Claim to Fame. Judging by the date of my last post, it turns out that the “it’s the thought that counts” - is all lies! 160;  Despite my best intentions, an entire year has disappeared into the ether. While away from my blogosphere I have continued my programming and my math/statistics degree, but I have changed jobs (10 months ago) – which brings me to this post. Glad youre with the other bing. MS are evil! My Claim to Fame.

Math Geek Coder: September 2007

http://mathgeekcoder.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Software Development, Math and Random Thoughts. Thursday, September 27, 2007. Updatable, inheritable, WPF bounded Linq queries. This is part 4 of my "binding Linq to Xceed's data grid" blog series; however I've changed direction dramatically. Skipping the details, heres the code binding to a linq query:. UsersLinqContext = new UserDataContext();. UsersItemsSource = from i. In users.DataSource User (). And this code fully supports inserts/updates/deletes. UsersItemsSource = from i. Can I use .Take(x)?

Keeping Myself in Stitches!

Keeping Myself in Stitches! Life, love, and the pursuit of yarn. September 29, 2014. 2014 Spartan Beast Race, VT Recap. So last Saturday I did a Spartan Race. well, not just a Spartan Race, but the World Championship Spartan Beast on Killington in Vermont. (trust me. theres a distinction there). Why so glum, chum? In fall of 2011, I found myself unexpectedly (and excitedly) part of the Lady Red Claws Dance Team for our local NBA D-League team. This amazing experience made my confidence soar! So basically...

Adventures of a Math Geek

Adventures of a Math Geek. I am a mathematics professor at the University of Montana in Missoula. I like mathematics and where it takes me, from the student-filled classroom, to the far-off and interesting places of both the earth and the mind. I also like the freedom my job allows, giving room for the adventures written about here. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the Math Geek Adventures blog archive. Monday, March 12, 2018. Everyday life now that I'm a mom...

Everyday life now that I'm a mom. Here I now find myself married and with a newborn. Although I'm just getting reacquainted with my blogging now, 10 weeks after Katie's birth, I hope to keep it up on a regular basis. We shall see how this project goes :). Friday, April 18, 2014. Listening to daddy play some music after mommy got back from a run. Watching the adults go tobogganing at Catherine and Ivan's. Hanging with her cousin Nate after the toboganning fun.
