Although my activity here has been much quieter lately, I think this still might be the longest I have ever been part of an on-line community. Aug 12th, 2008 at 1:07 PM. They posted the results. They counted my time. In my age group, I finished second from last, 5:59.78 behind the winner. Official time. I had started with a 6:00.00 penalty. If I hadn't missed my start, I would have won the race by 0.22 seconds. Then again, if I hadn't missed my start, I wouldn't have had the anger-driven motivation to push that hard. One week ago right now, I was in fact bouncing and rattling my way across some of the worst roads in this part of the state, participating in the Cone-Azalia Classic Road Race. The bike and I survived, rather comfortably, so I figured we were good.
