Busy (Mrs.) B. in the Kitchen: March 2009

http://mealswithmrsb.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Busy (Mrs.) B. in the Kitchen. Friday, March 20, 2009. These are some of my family's favorite cookies. My grandmother (my Nana) makes these and they do not last long around her 5 boys and 10 grandchildren. They are fabulous! You can, of course, mold these to your liking by changing up the flavors of the chips or adding nuts. This is how my grandmother makes them though and I love them just as is. Yields: About 100 cookies. 2 1/3 c brown sugar, packed. 1 c butter (2 sticks), softened. 4 tsp baking soda.

Busy (Mrs.) B. in the Kitchen. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Finally a bread success! My husband really enjoyed this bread and even commented that we need to have it often. Next time, I think I will even try baking it in a bread pan so that there is a better crust to inside ratio. The recipe below makes two loaves. I halved it and made one loaf since it was just the two of us eating. We barely even ate half of the loaf with supper. Source: Better Homes and Gardens. 5 1/2 to 6c all purpose flour. In a small b...

Busy (Mrs.) B. in the Kitchen: July 2009

http://mealswithmrsb.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Busy (Mrs.) B. in the Kitchen. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. I completely forgot to take a picture of this delicious meal. Trust me though when I say that it was fabulous. It was quick, yummy, and healthy! It's a VERY adaptable dish. You can throw cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes, etc. and it would still be great. We topped ours with a bit our sour cream and crunch up tostada. Source: Adapted from Betty Crocker. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in strips. 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed.
