Development - Middle Hill Wind Farm Scale

From base to tip each turbine will be 125m high (410ft), that’s over six times the height of the Angel of the North (20m) or over two and a half times the height of the Mount Gilbert Radio Masts (47m). The blade diameter will be 90m, that’s longer that the length of a Boeing 747 jet which has a wing span of only 59.6m! Because of the massive subsidies that are being offered to developers every single person who gets an energy bill dropping through their door will be affected by increasing utility bills! We are all PAYING. And very locally, the residents of Otterburn, Redesdale, Harwood, Cambo and Elsdon have the prospect of living with this development for a lifetime. For a number of years, Northumberland National Park Authority has marketed the region as The Land of the Far Horizon from the poem by George Trevelyan, The Middle Marches. It is a title the county is justifiably proud of - but for how long? The massive financial rewards on-hand have encouraged a rash of speculative developers such as Air Farmers to try and secure planning permission on sites which are totally and utterly inappropriate.
