Painting a Bluetick Hound part 2. I blow him dry to set all the colors and then I decide The brown is too red. I do a few washes of Asphaltum brown and then decide to use some yellow to lighten it up. That looks better! I blow it dry to set the paint. Then I spray it with plain water and use some thinned out black to shade the front, underneath his nose and around his lips. then I use a yellowish orange mix to paint the eyeballs a bit. Old Lum knew he had found his sport when he heard someone talking about going "jug" fishing. But he was better at the jug part, than he was at the fishing part. This is a Gerald Sears rough out that I got last October. I had hoped to carve with Gerald, but at least I got this rough out from him! Lots of challenging deep cuts on this guy.
