It is depressing to visit her, especially seeing all the other folks around her who are also in her condition only sometimes worse. Mum worked as nurse for many years and took care of folks like the ones she is with now and this has made her situation more difficult because she in her clearer moments understands what has happened. My thoughts about family and the complex world we live in. Friday, January 29, 2010. It has been just three years since I have retired and I can truthfully say I have not missed working at all. I have never looked back with regret or thought I made a mistake in doing so. I attend a monthly breakfast with other retired nurses and they all say they do not miss nursing either. I believe that says a lot about the profession. We were able to visit my son this year, hadn't seen him or our granddaughter for alm...

My life. I can't complain, but some times I still do. Monday, December 15, 2008. Ryan was there beside her when it happened. She was perfectly healthy. Ryan had to sell his home and move in with his parents. He's left alone to raise two girls, ages 6 months and 3 years. It's hard enough with two parents. I called him and offered my condolences, but what can one really offer in that situation except empty words? Awful, just tragic. I thank my lucky stars and twenty other clichés. This is the kind of thing that puts someone in office, opponents getting caught doctoring interviews, like the Dan Rather business of falsifying a letter purported to have been written decades ago on a typewriter when it clearly originated from a word processor.
