The Anti-Real World DC: 6/28/09 - 7/5/09
http://antirealworlddc.blogspot.com/2009_06_28_archive.html
The Anti-Real World DC. MTV's newest season of "The Real World" is being filmed about 20 feet from my house. This blog will chronicle the pain and annoyance they put me and my neighbors through as well as the heckling my friends and I plan for the newest crop of "real worlders.". Saturday, July 4, 2009. This is the Bus. And So Begins the Tour Bus. Despite what the Fenty Administration's Andrew Huff promised, tour busses are coming down S street to gawk at the Real World DC house. Friday, July 3, 2009.

Fast Forward | StudioEightOneSix
https://studioeightonesix.wordpress.com/2012/04/18/fast-forward
Fast forward is the speed I am most accustomed. You see, I am terrified. Terrified of what I’ll miss, what I’ll leave behind. So, I rush. As fast as I possibly can, I navigate through this little thing we all call “life”. Without hesitation, I leap. I absolutely must find the quickest, most efficient way from Point A to Point B. Stop and smell the flowers, you say? Those flowers are surely a waste of time. You see, I have to go. I’ve already wasted so much time. I am convinced I am missing something.

My Musical Blame Game | StudioEightOneSix
https://studioeightonesix.wordpress.com/2011/08/31/my-musical-blame-game
My Musical Blame Game. Those who know me, know my deep love affair with music. I have written about it on multiple occasions. And have declared my obsession in all the ways I can think of. Hell, my children should thank their lucky stars I didn’t actually name them something crazy like “Treble Clef” or “Turntable”. I mean, could you image their first day of kindergarten? 8221; the teacher rings out. 8221; Timothy replies. 8221; she calls out once again. 8221; Talia replies. 8220;Treble, um, Treble Clef?

Insatiable Theic: August 2011

Our first day in Edinburgh. As promised, I'm going to go back to our days in Edinburgh since I didn't have much chance to blog about them yet. We landed at about 8am local time, but to our bodies it was about 3 in the morning. We stumbled off the plane, went through customs and found a very nice, very helpful young lady. As she showed us to the taxi stand, we saw Susan Boyle. She was arriving to catch an airplane. In the country for 30 minutes and already seeing famous people. A pub called Guilford Arms.

Paint The Town Red: Fab'rik Fashion Show. As part of the Paint the Town Red campaign, a fundraiser for the Red Cross, Fab'rik hosted a fashion show of their spring clothing. A fun evening for a great cause. If you haven't visited Fab'rik yet, you must. Fabulous clothes, fun fashion, great prices with none of the snobbiness of a boutique. Posted by Eminence Grise. Insatiable Theic: August 2010

Going to Illinois Soon! It is almost time for me to escape the sweltering Southern sun for a summer with lightning bugs, a sky brimming with stars, and gardens full of deliciousness. Every year we go up to visit relatives in time to enjoy the annual county fair - on the same fairgrounds since 1888. In honor of the impending trip, here are some of my favorite photos over the years. Candy Kitchen, Greenup, IL. Will Rogers Theater in Charleston, Illinois. Yoyo ride, Cumberland County Fair. Upper hall, befor...

America's Castle: The Biltmore. On another purely frigid day, we went to the Biltmore. I was taken with it, much more than I expected to be. I'm the one that said, "That's it? It's kinda crappy." when I saw the Cinderella Castle at Disney World. But as a devotee of Frederick Law Olmstead and historic architecture, I found a great deal to be enjoyed, inside and out. And, I'll have to go back when it's not so bitterly cold. Note Vanderbilt's initials on the copper pieces. The clock. For the STABLE. One of ...

Insatiable Theic: DAY TWO (cont'd): Edinburgh
http://insatiabletheic.blogspot.com/2011/09/day-two-contd-edinburgh.html
DAY TWO (cont'd): Edinburgh. After a lovely stop for lunch at Canonsgate Arms, we walked (trekked, as it turned out) to the Royal Botanical Gardens. The walk was through a very cool part of town. When we reached the gardens themselves, I asked a very helpful man named Neil if there was anything in particular I should see regarding Robert Fortune. Since reading FOR ALL THE TEA IN CHINA by Sarah Rose. An incredibly large plant fossil. Dozens of pepper plants, or various capsasin content. A view from outside.
