Here is a list of random things that I never thought I would have said, but yep, I said all of them and many of them I repeat daily! Hey, come look at the size of this (it could be an ant, a beetle, or other weird insect). Oh, I like that graffiti on the wall. Farmer’s market- open every weekend). Can you hear me?

Donate, ID# 0355. Credit Card or Check Donations. Praises and Prayer Requests. Admitting my biggest weakness. Admitting my biggest weakness. You have seen ice cream trucks, but this is a waffle truck. Yummy, but not my biggest weakness! Sometime last year, The Mission Society asked me to participate in a "Coaching Training". I thought they sent the invitation to all of their missionaries and if you needed help coaching, you should reply. So, after admitting my failure to read, I was able to attend the Co...

A Dedication to my brother, Mark, who I credit for us working in the Prison. The first time I stepped foot in a prison was in Las Vegas, Nevada. No, I wasn't incarcerated and no, I wasn't doing a Spiritual Kairos walk. God had future plans for me and He was working out the details that gave me the push I needed to visit my brother in prison. Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: November 2009

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

To Him be the glory. Nov 25, 2009. At the End-of-the-School-Year/Christmas/20th Anniversary Celebration Dinner for the Methodist Seminary, we witnessed a tremendous moment. When Honorio was done speaking, the entire audience at that dinner was left in awe. He blessed all of us with his sincerity and loving heart. God is doing miraculous work in many different parts of Costa Rica, we're just along for the ride. The Movement Bible Study was a success. As I have mentioned to many people before, whenever I u...

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: Up, up, up

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2010/04/up-up-up.html

To Him be the glory. Apr 30, 2010. When I first got to Costa Rica in June 2008, Ray promised me that he would take me to Honorio's village. I wrote about Honorio in one of my earlier posts because he's the only indigenous pastor who's ever graduated from the Methodist Seminary, and he had to walk 7 hours and bus for 2 every time that he came down to the Seminary. So finally, in April 2010, Ray took me to Honorio's village. And it was awesome. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our Mission's Focal Points.

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: June 2009

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

To Him be the glory. Jun 27, 2009. Today the Metodista Wildcats shut down the Arizona Wildcats (straight from the US of A) in the Ecobasket Costa Rica Championship. An elementary school basketball battle. While I couldn't tell you the final score (due to the lack of a scoreboard), I know that we were up 15-4 at one point in the first half, and we were up by 20 heading into the fourth quarter. It was so great to have him at the game with me. Me, Kim, Alli, Hannah. Jun 19, 2009. The second campamento I att...

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: October 2009

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

To Him be the glory. Oct 21, 2009. Forgot to mention it, but last week I preached my second "official" sermon in Spanish. I've done many impromptu messages or reflections, but this was only the second time that I've actually been the "featured" preacher, if you will. As the disciples found out, Jesus offered way more in that invitation than they could have ever imagined- and he offers us that same invitation today. Oct 18, 2009. Kids Club, Los Guido. Yesterday, as is every Saturday, was Kids Club day in ...

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: September 2009

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

To Him be the glory. Sep 26, 2009. Seminary, I'm coming. To all of you who keep up with my life plans and such, I've got a small update for you: I'm currently applying to seminary schools, so that I can enroll in the fall of 2010. That means my days here in Costa Rica are numbered :-( I'm planning on stickin' around this country until April/May of next year, when I'll move back to the States, move to some new city, and then prepare myself for another 3 years of school. 17 high school students and 6 alumn...

To Him be the glory. May 28, 2010. Thank You and God Bless You! To all of you who have stood beside me over the years and helped me to love God more:. Thank You and God Bless You! 8220;Ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. At the...

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: February 2010

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

To Him be the glory. Feb 28, 2010. Last year the 500 high school students elected a new student president, and she won by only one vote. This new president desires to serve God and, like the administration, see a spiritual revival in the school. I've promised her that I'm going to do everything I can to help her see it through. So please be praying with me and the school's administration, because we are hoping for revival. Feb 23, 2010. Welcome to the front porch of House #1 at the Children's Home! Our n...

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: Goodbye Seminary

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2010/05/goodbye-seminary.html

To Him be the glory. May 24, 2010. On my last day in Costa Rica, I attended my final classes at the Methodist Seminary. It was a fitting place to say goodbye, as many of our pastors, as well as the Bishop of the Methodist Church of Costa Rica, were in attendance. But the real reason that the Seminary was the right place to say goodbye was because of the two professors who became my great friends over the course of the last two years: Ray Zirkel (center) and Will Faircloth (left). 115 Methodist congregati...

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: August 2009

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

To Him be the glory. Aug 23, 2009. Progress at the Children's Home. House #1 at the Children's Home is comin' along nicely! We've started laying block on the side walls, and we've finished pouring the concrete for probably 80% of the foundation. In the next few weeks, we're planning on having nothing but block-laying on our hands. It's tedious, but it's great that we're getting there . . . Below you can see Bryan and Beth Tatum, our new house parents for House #1! Hanging out in Puerto Viejo. And all the...

Serving Costa Rica for the Lord: July 2009

http://servingcosta.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

To Him be the glory. Jul 26, 2009. The Value of VBS. Every week, mission teams come to Costa Rica to work on construction projects from 8:00 in the morning until 3:00 in the afternoon. Every week, it's the progress on the construction site that motivates teams to sweat for the Lord. Every week, the hope of completing a Children's Home, a church, a clinic, a classroom, etc., gets people excited about the mission of the Methodist Church. But children don't understand Jesus, you may say. Children can't ...
