Spotlight on.Justine Reyes. Untitled, Vanitas, 2009, C-Print. You have done a lot of traveling throughout the world- and have been doing so since college, are there certain places that have affected you and your creativity above others? Can you talk about your travels in general- and what traveling means to you? Traveling is figuring out the world and figuring out my place in it. What are you currently working on? Al, Barcelona, Away From Home, 2008, C-Print. Experiences. The death of my uncle profou...

I really think it's important to be in a situation, both in art and in life, where you don't understand what is going on. - John Cage. Every set that I did in the gym, every repetition I did on chin-ups or on squats with 500 pounds, I never said to myself, ‘Oh my God, another rep.' I said, ‘Yes! Another rep, another rep,' because that will make my dream turn into reality. You act enthusiastic until you make it a habit.

Spotlight on.Douglas Levine. I'm so happy to be able to share this interview with you! This person really inspires, encourages and supports me on a daily basis. His name is Douglas Levine. Once, I overheard him with a piano student saying, "Don't practice like a farm animal. You're hitting your head against the wall like a cow." I wrote that down in my sketchbook, and have a good laugh at it every so often. How do you maintain such intense focus on your work? Do you ever get bored with what you're doing?

paper tiger: Amusements
http://thelaurenbraun.blogspot.com/2011/06/amusements.html
I took this photograph last summer at a fair in Lewiston, NY- but it looks so retro- like it could have been taken in 1952. I like it. Last week was my birthday, and on Friday, we went to Kennywood. The historic amusement park in Pittsburgh. We rode most of the roller coasters and screamed in joy and terror. I ate a corn dog for the first time in my life. It was disgusting and delicious simultaneously! By the end of the day we were withered and exhausted from all the fun. View my complete profile. Inspir...

He put on a little knapsack and he walked through Indiana and Kentucky and North Carolina and Georgia clear to Florida. He walked among farmers and mountain people, among swamp people and fishermen. And everywhere people asked him why he was walking through the country. I can fly, but today, I will walk. I Will Fly Away. I shot this in Sydney for my ongoing project entitled Perfect Days.

A photo blog about everyday life. I Will Fly Away III. I Will Fly Away. I Will Fly Away. I’ve been back in Buffalo for one week now. It’s Saturday, the first day I’ve had a chance to really relax since my return and I’ve been spending some time going through the photos I took on my trip. I found this fantastic (and ridiculous) review of the book that really gets at the heart of why I still think of Jonathan Livingston Seagull fondly:. Why should that be so hard? I Will Fly Away. Sydney in the Universe.

Spotlight on.Honey S. Lapcharoen. Tell me about all of your interests, ie. baking, cats, art, music, poetry, etc. My love of music fuels all of my other interests. It scares me to think about how lost I'd be without my personal soundtrack. I love to write, to work in the garden, to cook, and I do all of those things while listening to my favorite bands. I connect some of the most important experiences of my life to particular songs, lyrics, and voices. What is the mission of your thesis? You started off ...
