Thursday, September 27, 2012. Weighing In - September 2012. In June of 2011, I announced that I was tired of feeling "fat and frumpy" and I devised a plan to do something about it. For an entire year, I blogged about my progress every week. Okay, I may have missed one or two weeks. I shared my successes and failures with the world - okay, my five regular readers (LOVE you guys! Pounds ( /-) since last post: -4.6. Total weight loss: 26.4. Inches ( /-) since last post: 3. Total inches lost: 36.5. A few wee...

Lark's Song: June 2013
http://larkssong.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 16, 2013. I've been riding a commuter bus to work for about a year and a half now. I enjoy the chance to read or nap while someone else deals with traffic, but it is a fairly long trip and not always the most pleasant way to travel. I've learned a few things about bus etiquette that I've decided to share. in case you ever find yourself in a similar situation. Smells are not as easily blocked as sound. Too much aftershave or cologne can cause severe discomfort for a person with allergies&...

Sunday, March 24, 2013. Discovering Potbelly. and a Recipe. My current favorite lunch choice is the Uptown Salad - all natural grilled chicken, grapes, apples, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, red onion, and blue cheese - with balsamic vinaigrette. Delicious! And because I'm eating a healthy salad, I don't feel at all bad about having one of their oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. These cookies are amazing - and addicting! Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. 1 cup Brown Sugar. 1-1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda.

Lark's Song: August 2013
http://larkssong.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 18, 2013. Have I mentioned that I like to cook? Yes, I'm sure I have. once or twice. One of the best, and maybe worst, things about cooking is leftovers. With a son just barely out of his teenage years, we don't always have leftovers. But when we do, the question is. what to do with them? When I took my lunch to work, I would package them up and enjoy them the next day. But lately, I find myself throwing them out more and more often. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Lark's Song: April 2012
http://larkssong.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Weighing In - Week Forty Three. I made it through week 3 of Body Revolution. These workouts are HARD, but I'm sticking with it. I may not do all the reps, but like Jillian says, I "show up". That pound that I gained last week. it's gone, along with a little bit more. I would love to see "Biggest Loser" type results, but I would have to follow the. Diet program for that, and I'm not going to do that. My numbers for the week(s):. Pounds lost (-) or gained this week: -1.2. I gain...

Lark's Song: May 2012
http://larkssong.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 31, 2012. What is up with the birds lately? They’ve been strangely absent the last few months. I have two feeders outside my kitchen window, and I usually have so many feathered visitors that I have to refill them every weekend. But I haven’t needed to fill them for over two months now. I haven’t seen very many squirrels either. One little guy stops by and steals seed about once a week, but that’s it. Strange. Is it just me? Is anyone else in the Houston area missing their birds this year?

Why Your Ideal Career Is Hiding From You - Everyday Bright

Why Your Ideal Career Is Hiding From You. Jan 18, 2011. N college, it seemed normal to be lost. I had a handle on the obvious: financial security, a little adventure, and eventually a stable, happy home life. But my career? That was anyone’s guess. Apparently it was also anyone’s choice. I went with the flow, took the jobs that were offered, even attended graduate school. I made the best of it and was successful by all the usual standards. It was a relief … and also a huge surprise. A couple of weeks ago...
