Prefers Cookies to Veggies: May 2010

Prefers Cookies to Veggies. A first time triathlete chronicles the journey. Monday, May 24, 2010. Soak up the Sun came and went. And we survived. It was a good day, but a hot day. HOT! This year many things were different. The cost was substantially less. $56 for a hotel room and $65 for registration. This meager total doesn't come close to last year's $600 . My times were better for the most part. The tendonitis showed up in my run time, but otherwise things were all around better. Run 19:38 ( 1:00).

Prefers Cookies to Veggies. A first time triathlete chronicles the journey. Thursday, September 23, 2010. I don't know that I'm completely healed, but I have been able to run 4 miles without pain lately, so I guess that means I'm fine. I know people without AT can't run 4 miles, so I should be thrilled. Prefers Cookies to Veggies. A first time triathlete chronicles the journey. Thursday, October 27, 2011. The Highs and Lows. I know. It's like I just disappeared. Another abandoned blog in the internet wilderness. My first appointment with the ortho was Aug. 10. I went to Columbus Orthopaedic. I had a trip planned in September. We decided it would be best to wait until after my trip because no one wants to be in a cast at Disneyland! I signed up for a 5K this Saturday. Wish me luck! The Highs and Lows.

Prefers Cookies to Veggies. A first time triathlete chronicles the journey. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. I am so thankful I didn't rush into surgery. Rigorous stretching and massage therapy are working great for me. If at some point I feel like I'm not improving, I can always have surgery. At least this way I may not have to. 365 Days in a Food Loving Family: Day 317 Pasta with Pistou and Vegetables
http://carmelle-foodie365.blogspot.com/2011/11/day-317-pasta-with-pistou-and.html
365 Days in a Food Loving Family. Monday, November 21, 2011. Day 317 Pasta with Pistou and Vegetables. Christo is away and we've had enough of the no pasta, no rice rule. It's so boring and restricting. Watching Ricardo this morning with a cup of coffee and this recipe would not leave my mind. The Pistou a perfect substitute for pesto No nuts but using the last of our summer herb garden. Oil-packed chopped fleur d’ail (garlic scapes) or 2 cloves garlic, pressed. Finely chopped flat-leaf parsley. Day 313 ...

365 Days in a Food Loving Family: Day 308 Meatball Pizza
http://carmelle-foodie365.blogspot.com/2011/11/day-308-meatball-pizza.html
365 Days in a Food Loving Family. Monday, November 7, 2011. Day 308 Meatball Pizza. Meatball pizza sounds so boring but it is simply good pizza. Usijg the meatballs and sauce from a few days ago to mimic the version from our local pizzeria. Halving the meatballs and placing evenly and domelike atop makes appealing to the eye. The texture of the sauce is perfect for pizza. We baked on pizza stone in oven at 500. Finally getting the hang of the stone. Preheating and coating with cornmeal. Day 309 Naan Bread.

365 Days in a Food Loving Family. Friday, November 11, 2011. Day 312 Christos' Star Eggs. Men do things differently than women and we love to gripe about it. I'm sure men gripe but we're not privy to those discussions or we would gripe about that too. One thing Christo brings to our childrens' day which exceeds my expectations is breakfast. He loved his breakfasts with his dad as a child. His father revved up the toaster and made stacks of toast, hot and buttery for his brood. 4 Slices Rye Bread. A year'...

365 Days in a Food Loving Family: Day 310...Marinated Chicken

365 Days in a Food Loving Family. Thursday, November 10, 2011. Day 310.Marinated Chicken. Chicken is so boring. We have eaten so much boneless, skinless chicken meals over the past twenty years that I can't even remember. They do not stand out. When I met my husband. I'm not really sure what was going on with him? As exclaimed by Julia Child. Marinade: (The longer the better). 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 1/4 cup red wine vinegar. Juice of 1/2 lemon squeezed. 2 TBSP Dry Mustard. 1 Tbsp dried Oregano. Subscribe...
