Monday, December 26, 2005. Both of you'll get practice. Today was a day of gifts, and i enjoy both giving and receiving gifts. i don't relish having stuff, but i do appreciate the underlying reasons for the stuff, and i love the connections with my family and friends that often accompany the stuff. Ghost of corporate future by regina spektor. A man walks out of his apartment,. It is raining, he's got no umbrella. He starts running beneath the awnings,. Trying to save his suit,. The Road to Happiness: How the Garden Keeps Growing
http://alexandra-lifeincolor.blogspot.com/2014/06/how-garden-keeps-growing.html
Thursday, June 5, 2014. How the Garden Keeps Growing. Despite storms that uproot trees (into our neighbors' house) and little rain in between the garden continues to grow. It continues to frustrate, overwhelm, and amaze me all at the same time. It reminds me to be patient, appreciative, and kind. Three sisters garden: squash, corn, and beans, fenced and netted for creature protection. Tomatoes in the ground with poplar posts ready for trellising. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Road to Happiness: Rain
http://alexandra-lifeincolor.blogspot.com/2013/07/rain.html
Friday, July 19, 2013. It’s raining everyday right now. More than the typical mountain-summer-afternoon-storm usually gives. Four inches or more in places daily. Rivers sometimes too high to paddle. Roads and vehicles under water. Folks shaking their heads while gardens, hard work, and hopes are washed away. Here at Glory View we’re some of the lucky ones who aren’t in the flood plain. Our hopes for tomatoes are hanging on. Pumpkins, melons, and peppers seem to be doing just fine. Pumpkin and melon patch.

in true light: September 2004
http://intruelight.blogspot.com/2004_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 30, 2004. For now, i must go to sleep. i wish you the best and hope that you have the greatest time. I take a breath and pull the air in 'til there's nothing left. I'm feeling green like teenage lovers between the sheets. Ba ba ba ba . Knuckles clenched to white as the landing gear retract for flight. My head's a balloon inflating with the altitude. Ba ba ba ba. I watch the patchwork farms' slow fade into the ocean's arms. And from here they can't see me stare. And i'm excited because...

Friday, April 01, 2011. I want to help introduce to my family, friends, and the world a new website: Muddy Pumpkin Farms. It's April 1st, but this is no April Fool's trick. It's what my family and I have put a lot of effort into as of late. Here is Mark's blog post. From today. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook once that is up and running, or join our mailing list. And come check out the farm and our farmers markets whenever you're next in SD. Posted by Brett Werner at 7:42 AM. Softer than a shower.

Wednesday, April 27, 2005. If i was such a ghost. Life is good. quite good in a number of ways. i had an amazing last weekend. even with the terrible cold keeping me from feeling good outside and the looming end of the semester (and the paper writing and grading that entails). so it's mixing my life up - lots of good and lots of work. and lots of cold these last few days. This is an interesting analysis of a decemberists' album:. Http:/ www.stylusmagazine.com/feature.php? Take a long drive with me. Will ...

in true light: January 2005
http://intruelight.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 31, 2005. Mud and metal mixing good. What can you explain? Explaining knowledge-based things (like science) is usually pretty good - it's necessary. This is not to say that knowledge-gaining shouldn't be pre-dominantly experiential and personal. Explaining jokes is usually not that great - there is some strange thing about humor where it's some insider thing - some people and things are funny, but most jokes and humor comes from situated knowledge or insight. Explaining metaphors - unlike...

Sunday, May 08, 2005. We together make a limb. William kittredge understands why i'm studying rhetoric, why i think it's important, why it matters in terms of the things i care about. he says:. Http:/ www.wildlands.org/wildside/issue4/kitt.html. Red right ankle by the decemberists. This is the story of your red right ankle. And how it came to meet your leg. And how the muscle, bone, and sinews tangled. And how the skin was softly shed. And how it whispered Oh, adhere to me. For we are bound by symmetry.
