My experience as a Missionary in Japan! See, I told you I’d post another blog today! I am on a roll! Before leaving for Nagaland, my days were spent stressing over graduate school applications and wondering if I would be accepted to any of them. That being said, I am happy to announce that I have been accepted to four different graduate schools. The only bad thing about this is that now I have some decisions to make, something that has never been a strong point of mine. I will be flying to NY on April 29.

My experience as a Missionary in Japan! Now that it’s March, I’ll go ahead and tell you what happened in February! Last time I blogged I asked that you would be praying for my visa to India. Well, ya prayers worked! February 7th through the 21st I was in Nagaland, India! On Feb. 7. Kaori and I had sessions with the women and youth groups, Kaori shared about fundraising and foot massages, and I shared about the Proverbs 31 woman with the women’s group and gave my testimony to the youth group. We left Phek...

My experience as a Missionary in Japan! It’s been quite a while since I’ve updated this blog, and I’m sorry about that. There’s so much to talk about, and y’all know I love talking, but I just never seem to have the time. Here lately especially. So this post is pretty long, but no worries, as always there are some pictures! Heyyyoohh. Also, thanksgiving! And we did it right at ARI! John (Uganda) and Aye Aye (Myanmar). Thi Thi and Ni San about to board the plane to Myanmar. My favorite Cuban Jose! And sta...

The Liminality Soundtrack | Seek. love. walk.

Seek love. walk. September 18, 2014. While liminality refers to a specific moment within a ritual, it is certainly applicable to the proceedings of our lives. Our lives and our world are full of rituals, momentary or sustained, that we are often blind to as everyday participants. But I think we often find ourselves in liminal stages as we go through the transition and changes of our lives. By Florence the Machines: It’s always darkest before the dawn. Can I handle the seasons of my life? Trouble is, son/...

Questioning “normal,” Questioning “strange” | Seek. love. walk.
https://favorunmerited.wordpress.com/2014/08/25/questioning-normal-questioning-strange
Seek love. walk. August 25, 2014. Questioning “normal,” Questioning “strange”. It has been an intense summer, one that is difficult to process and analyze as the violence continues. Palestine and Israel have experienced kidnappings and murders, nationalist hate crimes, racist mobs, riots, rockets, military operations in both the West Bank and Gaza, all totaling a death toll over 2,o00. The hatred, tension, and desperation in the air feel as oppressive as the hot summer sun. Yet it does not seem strange a...

Worth It | Seek. love. walk.
https://favorunmerited.wordpress.com/2014/08/11/worth-it
Seek love. walk. August 11, 2014. It’s hard to believe that one year ago today I stood in the chapel of the Interchurch Center in front of friends and family, both physically present and via live streaming, and was commissioned as an official United Methodist Global Ministries Global Mission Fellow. A year ago, I prayed the Wesleyan Covenant prayer with the rest of my class of Fellows, accepting our call to the unknown. I have sat and wrestled with incredible sadness. Amid a 65 year long conflict, li...
