Save the @RoseTheatreSE1 – the first playhouse on Bankside. Nika Garrett @myLondontours is a tour guide in London. She is also a volunteer at The Rose, a Friend and the Editor of Friends of the Rose Newsletter. Take a walk along the Thames Bankside any time between 10am and 5pm on a Saturday and you may notice a sign to The Rose Playhouse. A reconstructive cutaway view of the first Rose, by William Dudley. Was established in 1989 to preserve this unique playhouse and make it accessible to the public.

The Curve gallery at the Barbican Centre. Has been transformed into an immersive installation of all things digital. Including video games, space crafts and electronic music. The first part of the exhibit was a digital graveyard. Ancient machines sat there looking sad, with labels attached to them explaining what they were. Because the majority of visitors were born when the WWW was already a thing. I also took a proper #museumselfie to prove I was there – I’m the one on the far left:. August 13, 2014.

DisobedientObjects @V and A micro-review. This is a fascinating exhibition at the V&A on the history of protest movements from the late 1970s to the present. It focuses on the role of objects in social movements and how these are used to promote different causes. The exhibition covers everything from the Silence = death protest (an inversion of the pink triangle the Nazis used to label homosexual men during the war) to the Orange Alternative movement in Poland. Constructive criticisms of the exhibition?
