Archive for February, 2010. Jane Campion’s Bright Star is unexpectedly fetching. I had prepared myself for the usual melodramatic bio-pic trappings an idealized protagonist, underdeveloped secondary characters, a little too much stringed instrumentation. The final years of John Keats brilliant career are so tragic and his poetry so filled with pathos (I still cannot read Ode on a […]. Nancy Drew in Europe. A few days ago I discovered a fine paper store. Tucked away in downtown South Bend and, as most of the items for sale were quite out of my price range (oh for a set of personalized stationery. On this subject, I’ve corralled together links to some of the best paper sources on the web (so helpful to have at hand when comparison shopping): Minted. And Kate’s Paperie. Nancy Drew in Europe. Grace Kelley in Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief. I can think of no better context for reading the novels of British writer, Mary Stewart. When I was in high school, I pretty much chain-read Stewart’s books one summer (this would have been c. 2000). Luckily for me, my memory seems to reset about every five years, so recently, I’ve been rereading her stories with relish. Yesterday, it was. Stewart’s writing is wonderful. 8221; ( Sophocles,. 8221; ( Euripides,. And most fascinating...

Monthly Archives: September 2011. September 21, 2011. One being WHITE. I am going to place an order soon with dickblick.com, but in the meantime, I have been using the Van Gogh method – directed by necessity to what’s in stock. All of the white space in the below drawing is erased white. Love that you can see another falling piece in the background. Despite this one’s less realistic/more pop-Lichtenstein aspect, I feel very satisfied that it captures the emotion(s) I wanted it to. Join 2 other followers.

Fall forward | In the Pink
https://pinkinthepink.wordpress.com/2010/02/21/fall-forward
Spring is just around the corner (well, not much sign of it here) but last week it was all about Fall fashion. New York gathered under the tents in Bryant Park for the last time. I’ve posted some of my favorites with links to the shows. 2 Responses to “Fall forward”. Feed for this Entry. On February 21, 2010. Anna on...
