My Road to Teaching. A blog about the ups and downs and all arounds of becoming a teacher! My First Day of Teaching! September 4, 2014. September 4, 2014. Well, I’m exhausted! I haven’t blogged since I started full time student teaching last year and my goodness, time has flown by! This year is a total learning curve-I know! 8221; I’m sure I’ll be whistling to a different tune a little later on in my career, but right now I’m just thrilled to be where I am. This year I have so many goals for myself as a ...

My Road to Teaching. A blog about the ups and downs and all arounds of becoming a teacher! Her Respect Tire is Flat. November 8, 2013. In talking to both of the master teachers of these girls, I heard two different things. One was that these girls have “flat respect tires” and would benefit from ARFF club. This goes back to the form of classroom management that I discussed in an earlier blog. Stemming from this idea of high trust psychology. Along with other resources, I am looking forward to finding blo...

My Road to Teaching. A blog about the ups and downs and all arounds of becoming a teacher! February 22, 2014. In our science methods course this past week, our instructor brought in snails for us to observe! These were snails that her two elementary aged daughters keep as pets, and were found out in town nearby. Our quick observations of these snails and their behavior and features was possibly the highlight of my week. Why? What does a scientist do? Are you a scientist? You do science all the time!

My Road to Teaching. A blog about the ups and downs and all arounds of becoming a teacher! Mathematical Misconceptions: Supporting Students. March 1, 2014. As a future teacher, I want to grow and learn to find out how best to support students that are struggling on a regular (and timely) basis to ensure that they don’t fall behind their classmates, but also to ensure that they are really understanding the numbers and operations that they are using. Dedicated to Social Studies →. March 9, 2014 at 7:25 pm.

https://therockyroadofchange.wordpress.com/2013/08

The Rocky Road Of Change. The road is long, but in the end the journey is the destination…. Part of this assignment was to set a goal of change at the end of the first week. I wanted to start back in my gym routine. The first night I ended up just taking my dog on a long walk but then went to the gym the next three days! My health and fitness methods course has taught me so much! I held a real brain today! Teaching My First Lesson! Today was such a great day! We had a discussion today about what the purp...

Final Winter Reflection… | The Sanguine Schoolteacher

Final Winter Reflection…. March 18, 2014. I’m sitting here contemplating my journey to becoming a teacher and I’ve realized somethingI’m reflecting! I find myself reflecting all the time. On those rare occasions that I get to teach, I will always spend time afterwards going over the lesson in my head. The reflection questions of our lesson plan guideline reverberate through my head What did the students learn? How do you know this? What would you do differently next time? March 19, 2014 at 2:12 pm. And i...

It’s not what you know, it’s who you know…. February 9, 2014. I don’t know…I just don’t know how to change my thinking on this subject. What I do know is that my actions will only be able to get me so far and I’m going to have to rely on my connections with others in this profession in order to be able to continue on any further. Part of the Process. Thoughts on becoming a teacher. May 5, 2014. We’ve been having the conferences once a week, for ten minutes each time. It’s been great to hear all the conversations going on and witnessing students connecting over books. These conferences have turned into an activity that my students enjoy and look forward to. Part of the Process. Thoughts on becoming a teacher. May 7, 2014. It was such a great experience to hear all the stories students told and all the ways they thought this student was special. I think this really let the student know how much this community cares about him and how sad everyone is to see him go. 2 thoughts on “ Saying Goodbye. May 7, 2014 at 6:31 pm. The Classroom Discussion in my Head. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Yesterday my cohort had the opportunity for environmental studies professional development through a Project Learning Tree. Workshop. The Classroom Discussion in my Head. Saturday, November 30, 2013. One resource that has particular launched great part of my growth as a blogger was the mathtwitterblogosphere. Introduced as a class resource. I've started following many of the math teachers' blogs, and I'm learning quite a bit about successful math classrooms as well as effective blogging. I commented on this. Post, I felt that there was a great dialogue between all the commenters and the original author. I feel like all of us contri...

My Road to the Games 2012

My Road to the Games 2012. Monday, January 30, 2012. LifeMake the most of it. I will never forget the days when I thought of nothing but to be the fittest…the best…immortal. I dreamed of the day when nothing would affect me; I was strong, fast, and aggressive. I was stoic but driven with determination in mind. I will never forget those days. I hated it and I thought people should just try harder like me. But is this fear real…or am I just weaker? I may not be who I pretend to be to others. Well…. How can...

I'm not sure who I'm writing this to, or for, yet. the Spirit that has inspired me to do this will also decide if anyone will be touched by reading it and in what way.
