Just another WordPress.com site. October 20, 2011. Art scene in Chengdu. Eventually I get to post this blog! I have had loads of trouble trying to upload images! Anyway, this is from our trip to Chengdu nearly 2 weeks ago now! We went to a big art, design and architecture exhibition. The venue was really cool, in big converted train station warehouses. We began our first day of sight seeing with a trip to the antiuque and art market where we bought a fan (and didn’t barter enough! And a piece of art! This was a bargain for 4! I also spoted a lovely yellow vase with beautiful pattern over it but this turned out to be 300! You can see from the photos, quite how busy it was! They had some baby ones in august! Will post photos tomorrow! There was so much artwork!

There was also a very strange western woman at the park who was stood just in front of us while we were looking at the smaller red panda. I said to Nat, “They look like a bit of a cross between a beever and a cat” This woman who was literally just in front just kept repeating what I had said! We were invited to go with my art department and so we set off after the Tai Chi competition and celebratory lunch with Nat’s department on Saturday.
