Oh, the Insanity!!: elaine_alina
http://elaine-alina.livejournal.com/40056.html
Oh, the Insanity! We had so much fun getting together at Darius and Lynette’s house in Brantford, Ontario to dance Saint Paul’s Cathedral (and get it taped) last year, that we decided to get together again! This time, the goals were to do the non-Jamie verses choreographed by me, Gwommy, and Rosina, to get some video footage of other dances, (like Tesara! And, generally to do lots of dancing, play games, and hang out with great friends. Welcome to Saint Paul’s Insanity Weekend II! After chatting with peo...

Happy Visit, More Dance Craziness, and Crown!: elaine_alina
http://elaine-alina.livejournal.com/38431.html
Happy Visit, More Dance Craziness, and Crown! This post details about a week’s worth of fun, and (be warned) is rather lengthy. A nice illustration of the domino effect of my decision to attend Crown and invite friends - I’m so glad I pushed over that first domino! Was going to the event anyway (and his office would pay for our hotel room), so I thought, why not? A couple hours later, I get a message from Jamie, Hi Alina! And Jamie had all decided to go with us to Crown. On the way so she could join us a...

Updating in between poo and blood. - The Geek Aesthetic

Updating in between poo and blood. Jan 26th, 2010 at 3:57 PM. Just finished a colonoscopy with the team, waiting for the mobile setup to get ready to scope an alcoholic with liver disease who is attempting to exsanguinate per mouth AND rectum at the same time. In the interim, snippets from the life of Kat. I've gotten pretty good about expressing thoughts in 140 characters, but these didn't fit. MY MOUTH IS OPEN! On craftiness and nesting. And "Is this breakfast nook big enough for our kitchen table?

Two Decades of Terpsichore!: elaine_alina
http://elaine-alina.livejournal.com/37619.html
Two Decades of Terpsichore! Started for me is going stronger than ever 20 years later - I can hardly believe it! I was part of many plans to make our 20th Anniversary special, but I had no notion of all the wonderful things that would occur this weekend. So much happiness! The week leading up to Terp was stressful - the schizophrenic weather meant that I was always on the verge of a migraine, and while I was able to keep it at bay during the day, I woke up with one every night. And. And I set up a displa...

A Grand Day Indeed!: elaine_alina
http://elaine-alina.livejournal.com/39881.html
A Grand Day Indeed! This was the third Saturday of November, and my third SCA event this month. At least this one was local (although that tends also to mean much more work as a member of hosting group)! So, of course, we also had to coordinate around U-Con, Marcus’ chess tournament in Ann Arbor and Cassandra’s friend’s birthday party. Whee! And it was also our 17th wedding anniversary! And so much to be excited about with this event - our friends Kasha and Ermenrich became our new Baroness and Baron, and.

Pennsic 43 - Dance with Me!: elaine_alina
http://elaine-alina.livejournal.com/38910.html
Pennsic 43 - Dance with Me! Back from another Pennsic - the best dance event in the Known World! And there’s some shopping and fighting and other stuff too. For those who couldn’t be there and those who were there and would like to relive it through my eyes, enjoy. But be warned - it’s kind of a book. So many fun details to share! Arrived on site at 5pm - in plenty of time for me to make the SCA Dance history ball at 8pm, especially given that. Saltarello la Regina as done in the ball was described by.

Unlocking the Doors into Dance: elaine_alina

Unlocking the Doors into Dance. Back from another weekend dance trip featuring Darius and Lynette’s fabulous house party, Step Spritely, and Sunday fun at the dance studio. After eating an early lunch at home, I picked up. As we crossed the bridge,. Made some comment about getting our passports ready, not that there was any rush, since it was not like we were going to pull right up to an open booth. Guess what? Decided it would be amusing to ring the doorbell at this point, so she did. On opening the...

Remember, Remember, a crazy fun November! Part 4 - Saint Paul's Insanity Weekend!: elaine_alina
http://elaine-alina.livejournal.com/36555.html
Remember, Remember, a crazy fun November! Part 4 - Saint Paul's Insanity Weekend! Back at Pennsic, we realized that we were never going to be able to dance Jamie's amazing choreography, Saint Paul's Cathedral, straight through unless we created an event especially for it. We decided that Darius and Lynette (who were not present) should host a weekend at which we would drill the dance and record it at the dance studio. This was that weekend. At least we were all smiling when we cracked up! We then got an ...
