The Blooperrealist: Moonstruck
http://blooperrealist.blogspot.com/2010/07/moonstruck.html
Blooper reel meets realism. Saturday, July 3, 2010. The 18-by-24 inch pages of the AAA Road Atlas are difficult to control on my lap as my eyes and nose creep closer to the type. What mountains are on my left? My knees bend inward to steady the center of my gaze, the peripheries out of mind and definitely out of sight. For that day, at least. Beth sits to my side, pointing out quickly passing waterfalls (“You missed it! Still others have found a balance or temporary calm. Some of these lucky ones ben...

Call me crazy: February 2011
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Sunday, February 20, 2011. I'm in the middle of a glorious four-day weekend, which has left me with lots of time to catch up on errands and to also spend my time pretty whimsically. Unfortunately for me, this has led me to several recent failures. Friday: Phone broke, bought new phone with upgrade, spent 75 minutes with Verizon customer service while sitting in my car listening to the radio. Then had to call Triple A to jumpstart my car. February," he said.

The Blooperrealist: November 2009

Blooper reel meets realism. Sunday, November 29, 2009. Sequined argyle: Hip or hypocritical? I am going to the Lady Gaga concert in Boston on Tuesday. Fame Monster, here I come. You may be thinking, "Oh my God! What are you going to wear? Survey says that this is the most popular thing for a person to ask me after I've delivered this news. It is beyond me why the first question is never, "Oh my God! Why did you waste your money? This is the most pressing musical choice Gaga faces. What will she wear?

Call me crazy: December 2010
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Sunday, December 26, 2010. I saw Santa steal a cookie at 7:30am on Christmas morning and tried to chase after him. Luckily, I was already dressed head-to-toe in spandex, and had my running sneaks, gloves, and ear warmer on. I chased after that scoundrel for nine miles before remembering my mom was baking her pumpkin bread, anyway. But seriously, it's the holiday season! Thursday, December 23, 2010. Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Evidence that my master plan ha...

Call me crazy: A marathon appetite
http://meghanrunsboston2011.blogspot.com/2011/03/marathon-appetite.html
A first-time marathoner's training manifesto. Sunday, March 27, 2011. Yesterday, I burned over 2,000 calories by running 21 miles along the Boston Marathon course. Don't get the wrong idea here- I am not running a marathon to lose weight. What a horrible, horrible endeavor that would be. My guess is that people who go into marathon training trying to lose weight often do one of two things: 1) Pass out, or 2) Quit. March 27, 2011 at 4:46 PM. Goodluck with your training, you are amazing : ). A Dog For All ...

The Blooperrealist: B-line blues
http://blooperrealist.blogspot.com/2010/05/b-line-blues.html
Blooper reel meets realism. Monday, May 31, 2010. Riding public transportation provides one of the best people-watching platforms that I am aware of. In Boston, riding the T can also be utterly frustrating. When that pedestrian in the orange tee with the extra large Dunkin' Donuts ice coffee beats the train to every traffic light, it takes some mental discipline to avoid making a scene of my restlessness. The front doors opened. "Rear doors please! June 1, 2010 at 7:43 AM. June 1, 2010 at 11:50 AM. Its a...
