Life in a small town North of the 59th parallel. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Why I am Here. My reasons for coming to Atlin can mostly be summed up to an impulsive urge for adventure. I've wanted to move North for a few years, but the plan was to do so after a nice secure master's degree - probably in occupational therapy. However, as the end of my B.Sc degree came into view, I decided I needed a change right away. She did not die. This brings me to Why I'm here. Why go North? And I'm so glad I came.

I go in tomorrow morning to meet with the principal again, plus hang out with kids and see how I get along with the teachers. I'm excited about that. I really love this town. Growing plants, North of 60. Wednesday, August 25, 2010. I'm just showing off now. Look at these pumpkins! They will soon be jack o'lanterns, I'm sure. They grow everyday, it's kind of incredible. And, I have red tomatoes, but only on the plants I grew from seed. The ones I got from the greenhouse are plentiful, but nowhere near ripe. Odd, I think. Apparently heirloom beats greenhouse. Cool.
