In the Dutch Mountains. Maandag 27 december 2010. North Sea Trail: Den Haag - Katwijk - Den Haag. The weekend before Christmas I hiked from Den Haag to Katwijk aan Zee, through the dunes and hiked back on the beach. This was my first "light" weight winter hike and I have made a lot of mistakes but learned a whole lot more. You can read about it on the internet but the realty is always different. So we walked to Scheveningen and started our hike at the pier of Scheveningen. A fen that has not been frozen.

Onsdag den 20. maj 2009. 22 april - dag 26. Der kommer altid en englænder forbi. Jeg får ild i gløderne fra i aftes, laver kaffe og langsomt kommer der liv i flokken, der har frosset godt og grundigt - altså dem uden dunsovepose. Vi har kun lidt gammelt brød og patê, spiser stående og får pakket. Vi andre returnerer til Jayena i flot sol for at konstatere, at der ikke går busser til Albunuelas, som vi havde håbet. Et par kilometer lang og stejl middelalderstenbelagt vej tager os op til Castillo de Castellar, hvor det trods det, at det er mandag, lykkes os at få en mand til at åbne sin lille butik, så vi kan få købt brød, ost, tomat, vand m.v. til den senere frokost. Three Chumps on the Road to Nowhere. Sunday, 29 April 2007. Resuming the walk from where we left off last week at Aberdour train station, we made our way down the coast to Kinghorn via Burntisland. On the way we passed a monument. To Alexander III, last Celtic king of Scotland. In 1286 the 44 year old king died in a fall from horseback in the dark traveling to visit the queen, at our destination for the day, Kinghorn. He was later buried in Dunfermline Abbey.
