Lost in the foggy foggy wild | Notes from a nondescript

https://notesfromanondescript.wordpress.com/2011/02/12/lost-in-the-foggy-foggy-wild

Notes from a nondescript. Observations – possibly of little or no import – possibly interesting. Lost in the foggy foggy wild. February 12, 2011. I exaggerated slightly. I do know where I am…geographically at least. Arriving at the cafe at the other end of the centre, I could see nothing but whitish-grey outside. It had become foggy or a cloud had descended. The sun tried to break through. It became a lighter, brighter, whiter fog (or cloud). Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Notes from a nondescript. Observations – possibly of little or no import – possibly interesting. Price of sheds, value of heritage. September 13, 2011. This morning I half-heard an item on BBC Radio 4 news about someone wanting to raise 500,000 to conserve the “hut” in which Roald Dahl wrote his books. This sounded very expensive for a small 1950s garden building. Http:/ www.roalddahlmuseum.org/savethehut.aspx. Price of sheds, value of heritage. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Notes from a nondescript. Observations – possibly of little or no import – possibly interesting. February 6, 2011. I really shouldn’t, I know, but I wanted to distinguish between what I’ve written on my laptop and what on the iPod Touch. Therefore I gave into the temptation when it offered me the choice of setting up a new blog. So, this is my blog on the move …. Create a free website or blog at WordPress.com.

NotesFromAnMBA | Key Takeaways from an MBA Experience

Key Takeaways from an MBA Experience. January 11, 2014. My finance professor repeatedly made the point that when evaluating an investment option, you must compare it to “something of similar risk.” He mentioned this in almost every class. Basic return formula: profit / investment. Two rules: Invest in positive NPV projects; Invest in projects offering return in excess of opportunity cost of capital. Example: Invest $1000 now, receive certain $1300 after 1 year. Assume investors can obtain 15% safe return.
