Malaysian Wildlife Photography: Shooting Puffins
http://malaysianwildlifephotography.blogspot.com/2015/07/shooting-puffins.html
A photographic and observational journey through the Natural History of Malaysia. Sunday, 5 July 2015. I am writing this report on my Malaysian Wildlife page because it is convenient to do so. I apologise because it is not a Malaysian venue. My advice however to Malaysian Nature photographers if you are in the UK between Early May and the end off July. Get out to the Farne Islands and do some nature photography. 2 An approximately six hour trip that leaves the Seahouses harbor at 9.30am and allows tw...

A photographic and observational journey through the Natural History of Malaysia. Saturday, 4 April 2015. The Berjaya Resort, Langkawi; a wildlife photography niche. At the end of March 2015 I spent three nights at the Berjaya Resort on Langkawi Island. It was long weekend with my wife and two other couples. From my p...

Malaysian Wildlife Photography: June 2015

A photographic and observational journey through the Natural History of Malaysia. Monday, 1 June 2015. Perceiving nature in action. I am a nature photographer who tends to specialise in bird photography essentially because they are the most available subjects where I currently live. While I will take pictures of ‘birds on sticks’ like many other bird photographers I try to get action shots as they tend to be more enduring and popular with the viewing public. Why are action shots more popular? Below I hav...

A photographic and observational journey through the Natural History of Malaysia. Wednesday, 22 May 2013. The Nature of Fraser's Hill; Mammals. Written and photographed by Nick Baker. The forests surrounding Fraser’s Hill are rich and diverse in mammal life. Links In My Bag. Nature has always amazed me since I was a kid. Growing up in a small town at Malaysia, there was no video game, no amusement park, no shopping mall and no McDonald. However, there were forests with plenty of insects, birds and small creatures around. Finding fighting spiders, crickets from the bushes and catching fighting fish in the stream were my favorite activities after school. I hope, with these images, I can do my part in promoting interest and awareness in nature conservation.
