Our writing group is so happy for her we feel like we each received a deal, too. Sonia writes historical fiction, so we asked her to take us on a tour of her novel. I've been lucky enough to read it and was giddy to see where the story took place and hear Sonia explain hidden details not included in the book. A Day of Firsts.

A couple from Oklahoma moves to New Jersey.and back again. Thursday, December 25, 2008. On Christmas morning, we saw Santa and Rudolph. No wait. that's Papa and Max! Max had his stocking hung with care. We wanted a picture of him in it, but he didn't fit. Daddy and Grammy show Max a new toy. Aunt Lisa and Uncle Brett had lots of goodies for Max. The wagon was part of a "boy starter kit" that included Star Wars. Later, more family joined us. It was a merry first Christmas. Wednesday, December 24, 2008.

Friday, July 17, 2009. Another Girl in the Kitchen. I seem to no longer be alone when cleaning or cooking in the kitchen. I have a little redhead mini-me who is always right there eager to help. Last night, while emptying the clean dishes from the dishwasher, she opened the cabinet under the sink and retrieved the dishwasher detergent and brought it around for me to use! Smart girl. Saturday, August 1, 2009. I always love the opportunity to help in Bible School. I again helped with the 5th and 6th grade group this year with Jennifer Neal. We had anywhere from 17-23 students every day just in our group. How fun it is to get to tell children about the love of Jesus and how he can change your life, then watch as they respond! Each day started in the sanctuary with the pledges, prayer, offering, video, prizes, and a few bible school songs. Wish I would have had the camera that day!
