June | 2010 | On Beyond Spandex
https://onbeyondspandex.wordpress.com/2010/06
Comics, behind the mask. Archive for June, 2010. June 22, 2010. Autobiographical comics seem easy. After all, you’re just writing about yourself, right? I mean, if little girls with diaries and Bret the Hitman Hart can do it, why not you? The only difference is you’re also drawing yourself, but if you draw stuff for fun anyway, it’s really the most obvious topic to choose. Everyone’s an expert on their own lives (excluding amnesiacs). Overcompensating kind of does this, but it also kind of doesn’t. To cl...
September | 2010 | On Beyond Spandex
https://onbeyondspandex.wordpress.com/2010/09
Comics, behind the mask. Archive for September, 2010. September 13, 2010. If I had to divide comics into three distinct categories (and I’m glad I don’t, because I would almost certainly overlook something critical) they would be the narrative, the semi-narrative, and the non-narrative. Next, the semi-narrative. Lastly, the non-narrative. Continuity is nil, save the occasional small story arc that still nevertheless works towards an extended punchline, rather than nuance or character development.

So This Is What Now? | On Beyond Spandex

Comics, behind the mask. So This Is What Now? On Beyond Spandex is a site where, barring a fickle shift in interest, I offer my humble opinions on comics online and in print, old and new, profane and childish, glorious and god-awful. Also, I keep readers abreast of comic news they could easily look up themselves on Google. And Who Are You? Some Guy (see above page). Did you seriously just diss Cat in the Hat? Nah, I was just kidding. Excellent book. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

On Beyond WoW
Friday, August 7, 2009. Winning is part of the fun. Supposedly it's all "gaming constructs." Put another way, it's about introducing elements particular to the measurable and competitive online gaming world(s). Indices of this nature have been around for ages (friends list size, number of comments under a blog post, thumbs up-down ratings of nearly everything) but people are now talking about and, at least on playfoursquare. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Winning is part of the fun.
