Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in support of brain cancer research. Day 10 - 24 miles. 1,300 calorie bean and cheese burrito. yum! I met a lot of people today: three Nobo hikers and quite a few others. I hiked with a group for a little while. I saw a few lakes full of trout. There's a lot more open, prairie feel to the landscape out here. I saw a nice lake to shoot for, and did the lasted 8-mile push to camp in two hours - even with 3,000 feet of climbing! I ate two dinners and am still hungry!

Still wet and rainy in the morning, but knowing that a cabin awaits me at the end of the day helped me to push through. Some really cool views and a beautiful - but also sad - burnt forest. Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in support of brain cancer research. Time off at Dinsmore's Hiker Haven. I got a ride from the pass to Dinsmore's place. They are nice "trail angels" who provide a place to stay, as well as other amenities to hikers. I took a zero day to recover and get ready to head back out. There is not much to do but eat, socialize, and drop pack weight! I saw a Nobo section hiker (hiking Washington) who I found out I know from OSU (Oregon State)! Talk about adventure of a lifetime!
