http://palousewargamingjournal.blogspot.com/2015/08/awi-british-combined-li.html
Marching Through History in Miniature. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. AWI British Combined LI. A long time has passed since the AWI project last saw action on the painting desk. My painting log confirms that. Last 28mm AWI unit across the table was nearly 18 months ago. Quite a long hiatus. At least the collection saw action on the gaming table last October. Figures are from Perry Miniatures. Maybe I will not wait a year and a half before bringing this project up for a painting desk encore? Delightful paint...

1757 Campaign – April. 1757 Campaign – Prelude to Prague →. November 27, 2016 · 4:18 pm. 1757 Campaign – Battle of Munchenberg. The first battle of the campaign occurred near the small town of Munchenberg when the advancing Prussians under Schwerin engaged the Austrians under Konigsegg. The Prussians had a slight manpower edge and an enormous quality advantage. It was assumed that they would brush aside the Austrians with relative ease. However…. Prussians beginning their advance. For several hours the w...

Newer posts →. January 7, 2016 · 11:34 pm. Right now I’m reading “The Outpost: A Tale of American Valor.” It covers the events leading up to the 2009 fighting at Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan. I’m finding it a very compelling read. It’s not political yet it does a good job identifying some of the shortcomings of our engagement in Afghanistan while primarily focusing on the events and individuals engaged in the fighting. Painting up some Napoleonic figures. Franco-Prussian Campaigning →. August 8, 2016 · 3:29 pm. Revolution and Empire Trial. We trotted out the 28mm Napoleonic figures for the first large scale trial of the Revolution and Empire rules. Facing off were 2 French line corps (Lannes and Davout), a Bavarian corps (Lefebvre), cavalry reserve and the Imperial Guard who were opposed by my 2 line Austrian corps and a Reserve corps. All told something over 1,000 figures a side. A few pictures from before the battle.

20mm modern American infantry. Revolution and Empire Trial →. April 16, 2016 · 8:28 pm. Painting up some Napoleonic figures. So we’re back into Napoleonics…the 1st this time, not the 3rd. I’ve been working on some Austrians to add to the army. I haven’t flocked bases or added flags but otherwise I’m moving along ok. Here’s a unit of Cuirassiers. I’ve also added a few more generals. Here’s Archduke Charles and some friends. Add lastly a few Austrian guns have joined the colors. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

NORSEYGAMER: January 2015

Saturday, 17 January 2015. Stephenson's Depot, Virginia, June 15th 1863. Another in our series of Regimental Fire and Fury 15mm ACW games, this scenario was taken from the late John Hill's "To The Sound of the Guns" so just our little way of honouring the man who wrote Johnny Reb rules amongst other things wargamy. General Edward Johnson's Confederate Division approach the railway bridge before dawn. Accompanied by two batteries of artillery. Under the command of Colonel Andrews. Following this, one gun ...

Sunday, 31 May 2015. Partizan, Newark 31st May 2015. Today, we made our annual pilgrimage to Partizan, which is usually a nice sunny day but this year cloudy and raining. It didn't stop the wargaming fraternity though as Kelham Hall seemed busier than I've ever seen it. I thought Mark Freeth from Wargames Holiday Centre must be here as his helicopter was parked on the lawn! The gloomy interior of Kelham Hall. Was brightened up by the beaming visages of Mike and Steve from Essex Warriors! A thoroughly ent...
