Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles: Kitty Update
http://suzassippi.blogspot.com/2015/07/kitty-update.html
Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles. Thursday, July 30, 2015. They are currently in the "let's climb up on something and jump off" stage. Preferably, jump off onto another kitty. Easily distracted by a new exploration option. And loving this new idea of eating something called "kitten food". Oh, how adorable they are! The tortie is my favorite, but they are all precious! I can just imagine them all playing and then crashing for a nap with Mama! July 30, 2015 at 6:09 PM. July 30, 2015 at 6:15 PM.

The National Association of Social Workers, Mississippi Chapter, met in Biloxi this past week. I stopped by what is now known as the IP, but which we dubbed "FEMA Hilton" in 2005 when we were headquartered there during recovery work following Hurricane Katrina. Links to this post. Thursday, March 12, 2015. Spring Break: Not What it Used to Be. Mississippi has been just downright dreary for a ...

Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles: Welcome home from Texas present
http://suzassippi.blogspot.com/2015/07/welcome-home-from-texas-present.html
Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles. Monday, July 27, 2015. Welcome home from Texas present. The stand-off lasted for 2 weeks, and then I left for Texas. Well, another two weeks later, Welcome Home! That is my fresh rosemary sprinkled across the top- yes, another of those "no skill required" to grow in a pot, but pretty, smells wonderful, and delightful on chicken with tomatoes and mushrooms. Nary a meltdown or ensuing argument since the return home. Sometimes, a strike is a good thing. All images ...

Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles: Doors--keeping you in, or keeping you out?
http://suzassippi.blogspot.com/2012/07/doors-keeping-you-in-or-keeping-you-out.html
Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles. Thursday, July 12, 2012. Doors- keeping you in, or keeping you out? I find myself often taking photographs of doors. Partly, it is my interest in the little details of a building- door openers, trim, windows, entry ways. There is just something about a door that beckons me to look through it, at what is on the other side and what is on this side. Those days have long been gone, as has Maggie. Then after Kate and Libby reached their irreconcilable differences...

Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles: Lake Cisco Dam and the World's Largest Swimming Pool

Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles. Sunday, March 17, 2013. Lake Cisco Dam and the World's Largest Swimming Pool. I have been working on research for the Living New Deal Project. Denton: University of North Texas Press). The deep end of the pool was connected to the "shallow" end (depth of 2 feet to around 4 feet) with a narrow walkway under which water flowed. The shallow end was concrete bottom, and held a kiddie pool (about 6,000 square feet) next to the dam. Part of the complex also included a...

Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles: Union Avenue Books in Knoxville: Books for Independent People

Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles. Monday, August 10, 2015. Union Avenue Books in Knoxville: Books for Independent People. While in the area of Union Street to locate some New Deal-connected buildings, I found this little block of storefronts. I liked the stained glass effect of the Art-Deco styled awning. The quirky paintings in the window captured my attention, as did the "Yay! Tags My personal favorites: Yay! What is said to be her most famous work, A Good Man is Hard to Find. Now, Knoxville i...

Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles: May 2015
http://suzassippi.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Suzassippi's Lottabusha County Chronicles. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Ricotta-Yogurt Naan Pizza with Balsamic. Satisfying comfort food without the (a) heartburn, (b) over-excessive calories, or (c) time consuming preparation- my kind of "cooking" these days. This little delight took about 5 minutes of prep time, and 10 in the oven, and the taste absolutely wowed me. Flat bread- I used Naan. Olive oil: brush the bread lightly before adding ingredients. Nonfat Greek yogurt: 1/4 cup. Ricotta cheese: 1/4 cup.
