Eleven days on 18 MHz with QRP. What can you do with QRP on the 18 MHz band? I think this question is best answered with some practical radio experience from the schack. In the following, I will describe what I worked using the equipment:. Wilderness Sierra with DL-QRP-PA. Output 5 watts CW. I do not intend to work very long and hard each day. Since I'm a casual operator, some operating sessions will last only 15 minutes. Some days I will not be active at all. 1455 UTC. He called CQ. New country on QRP!

My HF Rig and Antenna. My HF station consists of a HF transceiver which is connected to a horizontal wire loop antenna. The automatic ATU and the 1:4 balun performs impedance matching between the coax cable and the loop antenna. Click the picture to enlarge. Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark V Field. My HF transceiver is the Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark V Field. Certainly, you can do without all these features, but they are worthwhile additions and will increase your operating pleasure! Output 1 kW at 144 MHz from the SSPA cannot be terminated into small dummyloads. I needed a "grown up" load. 1 kW dummy load. Two large fans provide cooling. The dummy load works to my satisfaction. Both houses are terrace-houses, and a part of the antenna is above my neighbour's roof. I am working to extend my VHF antenna system in order to operate EME, and more space will be needed. Is mounted in an alu-cabinet, which I found in my radio junkbox. USB connection, paddle connection, and the keying output is on the rear of the cabinet. Inside the WinKeyer cabinet. I have been quite happy with this free software, and it has run well on my Windows PC. The update function works fine (you click a button to download software updates).
