Laura crochets: April 2010
http://lauracrochets.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
And reads, and cooks, and spins, and crafts. Thursday, 29 April 2010. The joys of spring. I'm trying to convince myself that blogging gets easier with practice. but I'm not one for actually communicating. Most of the time I wander round in my own little bubble-world. I haven't done as much crafting as I'd like to lately for a variety of reasons. I started and finished the lovely Lyra's Stole. The bag at the bottom right is a 'Miya' bag from Nicsknots. Please ignore the ripply chain - I'll try and sort it...

Laura crochets: Multicoloured
http://lauracrochets.blogspot.com/2009/11/multicoloured.html
And reads, and cooks, and spins, and crafts. Wednesday, 25 November 2009. I liek bright colours, al the more so at this time of year with the long hours of darkness that trigger my SAD, badly. :(. A few weeks ago I gathered up all my yarn scraps and started working on my never-ending granny-square afghan, using the aran to bulky weight yarns. By the time I decided it was big enough it was a good 6 foot square:. And another shawl. This time (another) Eva's Shawl. Sock yarn's not just for socks! From Inter...

Experiments in life, decorative felt, nuno, knit felt and mosaic. Bags, beautiful bags. Bags, beautiful bags. WHAT IS IT ABOUT BAGS? I first started making bags after falling for a self-made duffle on someone else’s shoulder made of beautiful wool stripes in orange, teal and french blue. And now I am hooked. The problem is there are so many patterns out there it becomes irresistible to try them all. Then having spent hours knitting you are going to risk throwing your work in the washing machine. Grommets...

Laura crochets: April 2009
http://lauracrochets.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
And reads, and cooks, and spins, and crafts. Tuesday, 28 April 2009. I bought myself a big jar and had a go at dyeing mercerised cotton. I wanted sort-of peacock colours, and proceeded to pour in a variety of shades of blue, green and purple but was alarmed when my jar looked like this:. But my 'cakes' were more like. donuts? Mercerised cotton, it seems, doesn't collapse so readily in on itself after being removed from the wall winder. The colour ended up as variegated turquoise/blue. Not as bright a...

Knit City: April 2007
http://knitcity.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 April 2007. Secret Pal Contest: Oldest Yarn in Your Stash. To be fair, I've only been knitting for five months, so my stash doesn't have much of a history. Even so, as sad yarn goes, this one is a doozy. Isn't she a beauty, in all her salmon pink glory? Thrilled with my success, I ran out to my tiny local crafts shop. This shop only carries acrylics, but I didn't even know what that meant at the time. It was yarn! That was good enough, right? Labels: secret pal 10. Thursday, 26 April 2007.
