Phoenix Napoleonics: June 2009
http://phoenixnapoleonics.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 6 June 2009. Napoleon - Foundry ruleset - Immediate impressions. My [signed] copy of the new Foundry rulebook arrived a couple of hours ago. Here are some initial comments. Unit and Army Concepts. The game allows different formations – line, column [of attack, and of march], square etc. Interestingly [for a Nap rule nerd like me] the column is 2 wide and three deep rather than 3x2. Advanced rules allow ordre mixte, divisional squares and the like. Each nation has some specific rules to benefit/...

Phoenix Napoleonics: July 2009
http://phoenixnapoleonics.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, 25 July 2009. Since Claymore 06 I've been building a pair of armies for the Peninsular War in 28s. Next week will be the third anniversary of this project. I've painted over a thousand figures myself, and eBay assistance takes the total to a smidge under 1400 in total. I may add some Spanish and a couple more units and then take a break - other than gaming with them. Here are the French:. Mostly French. A divisions worth of Germans - Westfalian, Bavarian and Swiss. And here are the Allies:.

Phoenix Napoleonics: January 2010
http://phoenixnapoleonics.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 January 2010. Some of the hardier members popped down to Dumfries for a new show last weekend. The game was a French Revolution game - and hence, the windmill (there is always a windmill in for some reason). They reported a small show, as expected for a first effort, but with a good days entertainment for all who came, and a nice potential starter to the Wargaming year in Scotland. All power to the organisers, They are planning for next year already. Wednesday, 13 January 2010. The Phoenix i...

Phoenix Napoleonics: The Retreat to Doarunna
http://phoenixnapoleonics.blogspot.com/2010/02/retreat-to-doarunna.html
Thursday, 4 February 2010. The Retreat to Doarunna. The final Sharpe Practice dispatch for the campaign year. My friends, I must report that Espania will remain under French domination for another year. Those godless rationalists will continue to hold sway over our gallantly superstitious folk. Yet again perfidious Albion has done a runner to the coast. I can, however, report that we Spanish patriots continued to make a bold and valiant stand in defence of all that is great about Spain and her wines.

Phoenix Napoleonics: December 2009
http://phoenixnapoleonics.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 2 December 2009. Convoy Action in Spain. The further dispatches of Ricardo Afilado, Hefe of the Regimentar Fuego a Volidad. Dispatch from the recent action near Fools Crossing, South Western Spain. Yet again, those foolish Englishment have relied upon our Gallant Spanish forces to save them from disaster. We then sucessfully liaised with the local irregulars, and agreed a joint operation in the interests of Spain to ensure that what is Spanish should remain in Spanish hands. At this point a Di...

Phoenix Napoleonics: 'Official' version
http://phoenixnapoleonics.blogspot.com/2010/03/official-version.html
Saturday, 6 March 2010. While it is well known that the truth has a Spanish accent, there is a slightly more 'official' version of these battle reports available her. Phoenix Napoleonics: Another Spanish Victory
http://phoenixnapoleonics.blogspot.com/2010/01/another-spanish-victory.html
Wednesday, 13 January 2010. Another Spanish victory to report in the ongoing campaign. Despite a wholesale cleanout of the Anglo's inept command structure, it still fell to those gallant Spanish patriots to storm the weakpoint in the French barricades and ensure the safe advance of the hapless British. Even though the bulk of Spains forces were retraining during this mission, those who were on service made the vital incision into the French lines. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Phoenix Horse and Musket. The Horse and Musket sub period related blog for the Phoenix Wargaming club. Seven Years War, Frederick etc, that sort of stuff. Thursday, 5 November 2009. I found two old Zondorf photos from the game start. This seemed the best place to put them.
