Stop, Look, and See. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. May 6, 2016. Robin S. Kent. One Photo Focus and More! This year is really speeding by; I can’t believe it’s already May. I’ve just returned from a short trip to New York City and it’s also time for Stacy Fischer’s monthly OnePhoto Focus Event, so this post will be serving double duty. In the case of NYC, I managed to squeeze in brief visits to three of the city parks in between some other business. Bryant Park at Night.

Stop, Look, and See. Skip to primary content. Cherry Blossoms–Not Yet! March 29, 2014. Robin S. Kent. Like most local photographers, I am eagerly awaiting the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin and elsewhere in the city. Unable to contain my enthusiasm any longer I drove down this morning to check things out. Already forewarned by Mitch Zeissler’s blog. Technical data: Shot at 1/125. Mentioned above; he has links to several live webcams that show the current conditions the Tidal Basin and the Mall.

For those of us who want to photograph them, it seems harder each year as more and more people descend upon this little landscape of pink trees framed by blue water and skies with constantly changing hues. I guess it started on March 29. Sunrise, April 9, 2014. The f...

Wearable Art Created with a Happy Heart. Mt Rainier, Finally – Part Two. January 22, 2015. January 22, 2015. Per my previous post, after spending much time taking pictures from Sunrise, we headed back down the mountain. The switchbacks are awesome. Although aware that the road is steep, it really brings it home when you can look up at the spot you were mere seconds before! Upon reaching the main road, Katie said, “Mom, you need to see this! River From On High. Up Close and Personal. The flora is so diffe...

Monthly Archives: July 2014. July 31, 2014. Spring in Great Falls was bright this year. So much rain, so much color. Spices and Vinegar →. September 13, 2014. I'm a mixed media painter. I am intrigued by colors and textures and how they play together. Lately my work has been concentrated on layering and piecing together painted papers with a focus on abstraction. I work in my home studio and also in a shared studio space with 14 other artists called the "Artists' Atelier". Both are in my village of Great Falls. View all posts by Jennifer Duncan →. Where I’ve been so far. The parking area at the Hill Village Store is quite large, which is probably a good thing. From there, you can go into the post office or the store and you can read the historical marker, all without having to move your vehicle…. My first thoughts after reading the marker was “Really! They picked a town and decided to use it as a flood control area? Didn’t they care about the people living there? Why Hill and not neighboring Northfield or Andover? And some old favorites…. Gives us...
