Liza in Ethiopia: Dancing in the Dark
http://lizainethiopia.blogspot.com/2015/04/dancing-in-dark.html
Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Dancing in the Dark. A gleek even in the dark. There's been almost daily power outages ever since the hot season kicked in. This is nothing new, but still something to bitch about. Second only to the sweltering Dire Dawa heat. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). This is not a food blog. Nor a volunteering blog. This is a personal blog of my experiences as a volunteer/ architect/ educator/ expat/ Filipino/ woman in Ethiopia. And are licensed under a. This sunburn aint coming off!

Liza in Ethiopia: May 2015
http://lizainethiopia.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 22, 2015. Green, green bokeh! The best feature of my little compound is definitely the grape vine trellis. (Especially, when I transferred to the house proper of the compound, where the trellis is.). It yielded fruits last year, but wasnt keen to harvest them, because when I tried to taste one from off the vine, it tasted rather sour. (On hindsight, it must be because I picked up an unripe piece.). But this year, the translucent green goblets hung too delectably to resist. Pinay Art. Stand.

Liza's Hut: Remembering the Bohol Oktubre Kinse Linog
http://lizashut.blogspot.com/2014/10/remembering-bohol-oktubre-kinse-linog.html
Remembering the Bohol Oktubre Kinse Linog. Exactly one year ago, the island of Bohol snapped from beneath, rocking the very foundations of our faith and fate as a people. In less than a minute, I saw our stone churches reduced into rubble, homes crumbled and toppled, lives lost, families shattered, dreams interrupted. Padayon sa pagbangon, Bohol. Liza's Hut: Selfie
http://lizashut.blogspot.com/2013/09/selfie.html
Because, why not? I'm afraid of mirrors. And at the receiving end of cameras and flashes. Or prying eyes. I mean, who isn't? And this is not a new fear, that's sprung from this egoistic/egotistic society hungry for social likes and retweets. No, I've been like this since I could remember. I hate being photographed at. Except for when I'm in the right mood, the right mind, the right outfit. Well. But that generally, rarely, happens. But when it does, why the hell not? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Liza's Hut: September 2013
http://lizashut.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Happy 15th, Google! This is a fun game! Turned 15 on September 4. Fifteen years ago, in 1998, I was a college freshman in UP-Diliman, barely knew how to use Microsoft Word, and had absolutely no idea how to use the Internet. My older brother had to help me set up my first email account. (Im not sure if it was Eudoramail or Yahoo! I know, its no longer active.). Because, why not? I'm afraid of mirrors. And at the receiving end of cameras and flashes. Or prying eyes. I mean, who isn't? Happy 15th, Google!

Liza's Hut: It's me. Not The Master.
http://lizashut.blogspot.com/2013/09/its-me-not-master.html
It's me. Not The Master. I'm on a quest. I have tons of unwatched films in my external hard disk. I'm out of HD space and have to delete the movies, pronto. I must watch more nearly ten, probably more, movies within the week. Movie marathon? Take, The Master. By Paul Thomas Anderson. Stellar cast. Oscar-nominated performances by Joaquin Phoenix, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams. It's me. Not The Master. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Happy 15th, Google! Its me. Not The Master. Saturday, March 21, 2015. Getting the Party Started! IAmWomam 2015 Art Exhibit Ingress). 2nd year architecture students mount their sketches on frames provided by Alliance. We'll be winging it. That's always been the idea. The exhibit ingress, we announced to participating students, would be today, Saturday, the morning and afternoon before the exhibit is set to open at 6pm later. We agreed to an 8am assembly time. I breathed a sigh of relief. Taking some time for framed-up photos while working! Subscrib...
