In 1976 AMROC designed and built a prototype called the Stalgia. Basically a generic design somewhere between a Morgan and an MG. The idea was to produce a body kit based on the VW chassis which was the simplest and most popular chassis for building a sports car from a kit. BACK TO SITE INDEX.

MY CUSTOMIZED CHEVROLET COUPE " HOT ROD ". But were good to hear. MY " HOT ROD" ROADSTER CHASSIS. In 1951, I decided to build a real hot rod roadster powered by my Chevy engine. I located a 1926 Chevrolet Superior K roadster body and started building a chassis for it. The aim was to have a roadster to run at a drag strip I was trying to get for the hot rod club I and some fellow rodders had started on Long Island, NY. The chassis and running gear were assembled from several different kinds of cars.

The suspension is standard coil springs front and rear. The engine is a Chevrolet V-8. The TDX was America's first full sized, full powered, "all plastic" passenger car. Is a profile of the TDX during some phase of construction. I have included this photo because the other photos create the illusion that the TDX is short and squat and not too graceful. Not true, in fact it was designed to be sleek as well as innovative, and this photo is more representative of how it looks. THE TDX PLASTIC BODY/CHASSIS.

Here are some fiberglass projects that I was involved with. Perhaps you will recall the cars and may have even driven one as kid. I revised his fiberglass body structural design to make it more practical for production and started supplying bodies to what then was called, Schiller Engineering Company. Later, Carl and I joined forces under the name Larc Douglas ( I dreamed up the name by re-arranging " Carl " and adding his son's name, Douglas ). We built the Offyette racer and the Offyette sports car.
