Poems About Oranges: My Year in Lists: 2011
http://poemsaboutoranges.blogspot.com/2011/12/my-year-in-lists-2011.html
My Year in Lists: 2011. Final count: 47 books. Including fiction, nonfiction, and poetry! Most fun: The Beekeeper’s Apprentice. Which I read twice! I also read the first five sequels in the Mary Russell series in a matter of months. Biggest surprise: Eat, Pray, Love. I can admit that I found it profoundly moving when I read it last spring. Sometimes books live up to their hype. Greatest accomplishment: Vanity Fair. It was looooooooong. Fortunately, its awesomeness was proportional to its length. HereR...
Poems About Oranges: June 2011
http://poemsaboutoranges.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Summertime . . . And the living is hot. Like really hot. Like "Oh, good Lord, where's the ice bath? The first 100 degree day of summer is upon us here in Kansas. Instead of getting cranky about it as I sweat to death on my couch, I want to write about my favorite summer things. The power of positive thinking and all that. ;). Here's what I love about summer:. Produce, produce, produce. Ooooo, the salad greens! Okay, so I like food- can you tell? The smell of barbecue. How cold things taste extra amazing.
Poems About Oranges: November 2011
http://poemsaboutoranges.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
The Vampire Diaries: A Comparative Review. So for the past couple of months, I've spent a lot of time holed up in my apartment due to some epic hip pain. I have bursitis in my hips. That's right, bursitis. And, yes, this does mean that I'm an 80-year-old trapped in a 28-year-old's body: I also spend a lot of time cat cuddling and tea drinking and thrift shopping and grouching at the noisy youngsters who walk past my bedroom window and staying in to quietly listen to NPR. I'm cool with it. ;). Has more pl...
Poems About Oranges: Book Abandonment: White Teeth and Out of Africa
http://poemsaboutoranges.blogspot.com/2009/12/books-half-read.html
Book Abandonment: White Teeth and Out of Africa. Have you ever stopped reading a book in the middle? I've always prided myself on finishing all the books that I begin. I don't like the idea of characters floating around in my memory, half-formed and, to my knowledge, fate-less. Did Dave die? Did Joanie ever find love? Did Xangar III ever return to his home planet? I hate the idea of not knowing, of leaving books and characters incomplete. By Zadie Smith and Out of Africa. I'm sure to be haunted by them e...
Poems About Oranges: Moving On
http://poemsaboutoranges.blogspot.com/2013/02/moving-on.html
Hi friends, family, and anonymous Poems About Oranges readers! But this blog no longer relates to my career goals, or to a lot of my interests. I still love reading, of course, but I post my reviews on Goodreads. And I still love baking, but I don't do much of it anymore because I've changed the way I eat. That's why I have decided to retire Poems About Oranges and move onto another blog project: In the Key of Vegan. I've been experimenting with vegan cooking. I hope that you come check out the new blog.

Thou art mine; I am thine. 9 May, 2011. Tags: community supported agriculture. Well, I finished all the leafy greens that my Week 1 bag provided. That was a lot of salad. A lot. But I feel good, so it wasn’t that bad. Right And I just happen to have strawberries in the fridge, so this was made to happen. However, it will all have to wait until I see. Tomorrow with the husband. Waa waaaaa. And maybe I’ll bring my camera! Response to “CSA: Week 2”. Feed for this Entry. 10 May, 2011 at 1:07 pm. Fill in your...
Apparently I’m versatile? | Matt Weiss Online
https://mjw321.wordpress.com/2010/12/26/apparently-im-versatile
Just another Rhetoric grad student weblog. December 26, 2010. Apparently I’m versatile? Posted by mjw321 under Uncategorized. My beloved roommate Michael. With some meme that says I need to describe seven things about myself that you couldn’t find out about me online. Unlike Michael, I should have no trouble, since I tend to post things online only sporadically. The trouble for me, then, is choosing which of the barely relevant things I should share with the world. It could be mine…. You can probably fin...
Community Supported Agriculture | O Kansas!
https://wavingwheat.wordpress.com/2011/05/03/community-supported-agriculture
Thou art mine; I am thine. 3 May, 2011. Tags: community supported agriculture. My CSA subscription began on Monday. And now I have more leafy greens than I know what to do with. What’s a CSA subscription? There are different types of CSAs. There’s some that you can get solely through one farm; for instance, Homespun Hill Farms. Provides subscriptions for meats only (laaaammmb. omg! I got my subscription through the Rolling Prairie Farmers Alliance. On a side note, I’m toying with the idea of using ...
On the Prairie | O Kansas!
https://wavingwheat.wordpress.com/2011/05/17/on-the-prairie
Thou art mine; I am thine. 17 May, 2011. Kansas Places of Interest. My partner-in-crime came into town on Thursday and Saturday we spent time together doing the things that we do when we are together. This mainly entailed going to the Farmer’s Market and the Kansas Road Trip! We went out to the Konza Prairie. Near Manhattan, KS and then out to Clay Center. What I ultimately loved about the Konza Prairie was the fact that it was in the Flint Hills. Actually being on the hills was marvelous as well, but I ...
Bare All | O Kansas!
https://wavingwheat.wordpress.com/2011/08/27/bare-all
Thou art mine; I am thine. 27 August, 2011. A few months ago, my husband and I started having weekly household meetings in order to help us organize ourselves better. Needless to say, those meeting went on for about two months and then stopped, partially because my husband insists on us meeting at 7 pm. on a Saturday, which is almost impossible to do when your weekends are spent catching up on your social life. I’m not saying that instantly I was like “I love my body! Response to “Bare All”.

Poems About Nothing in Particular
Poems About Nothing in Particular. Friday, August 31, 2012. Generally, the age of a cave can't be determined directly because the cave itself is an empty space.". Oregon Caves tour guide. We populate our blindness. With nervous laughter, shuffle. Our feet on unseen ground. Somewhere a bat discerns. Our shapes by listening. You clutch my hand, moored. To the safe harbor of palms. And fingers as we are asked. To hold a collective breath. Listen: dark like this presses. On your open eyes, your chest. He lef...

Poems about onion bagels. 1 guy writing 365 onion bagel poems in 365 days. Boiling emotion" search story. The search for life's meaning can take many shapes - in this case, it's a ring. Set out did I intent to try. To make the perfect bagel,. I leafed through trees of recipes. Examined every angle,. For months and years between my ears. I lived a baker’s toil,. Yet all these plans stayed from my hands. And not one bagel boiled;. Until said me, why must there be. A single chosen way? One bagel every day?

Poems about peas, and other stuff. June 15, 2014. Put me in a rocket. In my pocket,. I’ll be fine. Is of the essence. And there’s plenty,. My days won’t be empty. Travelling at the speed of light,. A pea-fuelled rocket flight. Is as good a way as any. To turn one day into many. Stars are twinkling in the sky,. On and on (with peas) I fly. The cat and the chickpeas. April 6, 2014.
