Still need to make a backdrop to go behind all of the structures, there is a small gap to allow this behind them. Working on the various storage silos and piping to connect them all. After much soul searching and a full year of considering this in the back of my mind, I have decided on the LDC (Layout Design Concept) and the associated LDE's. LDE - 1) On one of the long walls, The Paper Mill at Gilman, VT. LDE - 2) On the other long wall the Connecticut River Bridge. LDE - 3) On short wall the Gillman Agent Shanty. I had planned on having a back ground on the lexan case with this diorama. However the lighting would cause a shadow in many situations so I am going to go with just the clear case as I originally envisioned. A discussion on model building. Sunday, November 30, 2014. FFG-36 USS Underwood started. The styro foam is being glued to the base for the USS Underwood. I had to glue the hull together to mark the base cutout. I have ordered the Pontos photo etch upgrade for this kit. This diorama is for a fellow retired sailor who works for me. This is the ship he has the fondest memories of being on. U-575, the diorama base has its base coat of black paint applied. The TBM Avenger assembly has started.
