Postpartum Quilter

Monday, March 5, 2012. The Wisdom of Kids. Last night, I gave the kids a bath in their bathroom. (We usually do baths in our bathroom, which has a larger tub). While my 9 year old daughter was still in the bath, I ran downstairs to grab something. She called down to me saying she was hearing some loud banging noises. As I went to investigate, I noticed multiple spots dripping from the dining room hallway ceiling. Well, my daughter proceeded to prove science, common sense (and me) wrong! Hosted by three o...

Postpartum Quilter: November 2011

http://postpartumquilter.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 26, 2011. Okay, so, well it sounds. Impressive in the title, but my "patrons" are actually my sister and our long-time housekeeper. (Our housekeeper has been with our family for over thirty five years now. She tidied and cleaned the house I grew up in once a week, and now that we've moved back to my hometown, she comes to our house weekly, and she is a Godsend! I know this is not "big time" by any means, but I'm so excited to get paid to sew/quilt/be creative! I use this origami crane ...

Postpartum Quilter: January 2012

http://postpartumquilter.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Well, it's here- today is my one year Blogiversary! I can't believe it's already been a year. It has been such a wonderful experience. I am so glad that my husband encouraged me to "take the plunge"! In celebration of this big event in my life, I would like to offer a small giveaway to "give back'" to those that have given to me. I played around with a few ideas, and here's what I came up with:. Six fat-quarters of Denyse Scmidt's coordinating Aunt Edna. Peace, love and a star).

Postpartum Quilter: June 2011

http://postpartumquilter.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 28, 2011. It's 7:44am and I am sipping my 3rd cup of coffee right now. (Don't worry, it's half-decaf.) What are you having today? My new pattern is to (naturally) arise between 4:00 and 4:30am - so I've already put away dishes, washed the pots and pans while listening to a Tara Brach podcast. In an hour, I will be dropping him off at camp- it's going to be a loooong hour! What's summer like where you are? Do you have a garden? Have you been up to any fun activities this week? My daughter ha...

Postpartum Quilter: October 2011

http://postpartumquilter.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 20, 2011. Right now, I'm involved in a very fun Scrappy Swap. See button in sidebar) hosted by Kat of Diary of a Flutter Kat: A Mumma's Time to Create. I decided to make a scrappy moleskine journal cover with inside pockets for her. I was using 2 tutorials simultaneously and adjusting for the size of the journal. So the first run was an experiment, with many technical flaws that needed tweaking. Trial Run: Scrappy Moleskine Journal cover. Back side is on Left, front cover is on Right).

Postpartum Quilter: September 2011

http://postpartumquilter.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 25, 2011. My First Swap Ever: Ready to Post! I recently "took the plunge" and entered my first swap ever. It was a wonderful [international] swap, hosted by Cindy of Fluffy Sheep Quilting. Here's Partner 1's package, ready to go:. It contains this "goodie": ( a fabric covered notepad). The idea for the fabric-covered notebook came from this magazine:. And this is the mug rug for the same partner: [ shown in my last post]. Here's Partner 2's package:. Have a great Sunday, all! That descr...

An oft traveled road. We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out. -Ray Bradbury. Look What I Did! I went into Sister’s. Today and look what I brought home, “Central Park” by Moda. Wheeee! Isn’t it beautiful! Okay, so the picture could be better, but can you tell I’m excited?
