The core of our research agenda is to allow the domain expert to develop parallel software without becoming an expert in parallel programming. Our approach is to use a layered system based on DSLs, a common parallel compiler and runtime infrastructure, and an underlying architecture that provides efficient mechanisms for communication, synchronization, and performance monitoring. 2 Members will receive assistance, if desired, in arranging interviews between individual students and company representatives.

Green-Marl is a domain-specific language (DSL) for graph data analysis. Green-Marl allows the users to describe their algorithms in intuitive ways while the performance is delivered by the compiler. In specific, the compiler translates the given DSL program into an equivalent, parallelized, high-performing program written in a general purpose language (e.g. C ). In doing so, the compiler exploits high-level information that is naturally exposed by the DSL syntax. Green-Marl Project at GitHub.
