http://prairiequilts.blogspot.com/2014/01/feeling-blessed.html

Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Ever have something wonderful happen so unexpectedly that it just floors you? It takes your breath away. I got home, today, and found a little mailer on my desk. Never mind the thrill of getting mail- and a package at that! Yes, I'm still a kid at heart and I love to get mail- of the not-a-bill variety. But inside was a simple note from Julie W. and the most precious little quilt. I was floored! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

prairiequilts: June 2013

http://prairiequilts.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 25, 2013. I just thought I'd pop in and say, "Hello! Hoping everyone is having a good summer. Our kids are living in the pool- can you imagine anything more fun on a hot morning, afternoon and evening? Didn't keep them from eating the whole thing! Well, you know how hungry swimming can make ya. At least I made two trays so maybe they'll give me a chance to bake this one. This song is pretty much my aspiration. I think I need a new storage box for my 2" leader/enders, whatcha think? Speaking...

Wednesday, December 25, 2013. I just wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures from the wedding of our son, Paul, and his new bride, Kim. They were married Monday and, as you can see, they're very happy. We all are. Lovely photos of a handsome groom and a stunningly beautiful bride making a gorgeous couple - many congratulations to them both. Wow, a Christmas wedding. Congratulations to all. This is one Christmas that wont be forgotten. :-). Congratulations. They do look happy! Nines' places to visit.

Friday, December 27, 2013. Abe- "Today was a very good day! Abe- "Because Paul got married, today.". Dan- "Why does that make it a good day? Abe-"Because now he won't be the desperate man I always thought he would be.". What a neat kid. (He also gives really good hugs, folks) Love the idea of the planets. Way to! What an awesome feast and soooo creative. I love the desserts hanging from the ceiling! You are still doing these in December. Abes conversation made me laugh. Thats a brother for ya.

prairiequilts: May 2013

http://prairiequilts.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 25, 2013. Six of our youngest kids in the loft at Grandmother and Grandfather's. Left to right: Bekah 12, Abe 9, Evabeth 14, Paul 18, John 16, Jacob 20. Vertical landscape outside the window. Blenko Glass from Sweet William. Honey, I'm Home! We arrived home, safely, late last night. We had a wonderful time, but there's no place like home. Thursday, May 16, 2013. Time for the Grand Finale. My Mom pieced this quilt for my sister's younger daughter-in-law, Sarah Jane. She is a very gentle ...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: May 2013

http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Friday, May 31, 2013. How did it get be May 31st already? I have been sewing some - not nearly as much as I would like of course. One of first finishes of the year was the scrappy trip quilt. I love how this quilt turned out! It now lives on our couch and gets used daily. Sorry for the bad picture - but blurry is what happens with two wiggly quilt holders! I definitely see another one of these in my future . Thanks, Bonnie, for another great pattern! 2 - Orphan Blocks.

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: June 2013

http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Saturday, June 29, 2013. I finished up the binding on Maddie's quilt today. It never takes as long as I am dreading that it will. I've got the label printed up and am waiting for it to dry before I sew it on. Maddie is looking forward to giving it to her friend tomorrow morning. The quilting always ends up being much denser than I imagined - but Maddie was thrilled with it - so I'm happy! Looking forward to getting to do some of my own sewing next week! She pieced th...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: July 2012

http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Saturday, July 21, 2012. July has sped by at lightening speed. We have one more month of summer break left and we intend to make the most of it! We have a couple of trips left and then 10 days at home to recover and get ready for the school year. I have managed to get some sewing done in the few quiet moments. This month's UFO was the 2011 birthday group blocks. I love these blocks! Done all in greens - and flying geese! The block was the 12th block in a year long se...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: July 2013

http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Saturday, July 06, 2013. This week has been lovely - lots of rain (which we desperately need) so no reason to go out and about. I felt like I had some sort of attention disorder because I didn't want to work on anything for too long. Back in January I bought myself a fat quarter pack of Tula Pink's Salt Water fabric, thinking it would be enough for a lap quilt. Not quite! I love the dark blue fabric with the sea shells! Do you think she would let me keep it? 6 - Bonn...

http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Saturday, November 24, 2012. Winner, winner, turkey dinner! I will try to stick the box in the mail on Monday. I also noticed that my 400th post will be my next post! I think that calls a really good giveaway! Have a great weekend! Thursday, November 22, 2012. If you are interested in these scraps , leave me a comment telling me what you are most thankful for today! I'll pick a random number on Saturday to decide the winner. Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: September 2012

http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Monday, September 24, 2012. I have a small USPS flat rate box filled with scraps from Denyse Schmidt's fabrics from JoAnn's. Most pieces are bigger than 2 inches - but this is what remains from 2 quilts and cutting 3.5" squares for a third quilt. These pieces would be great for crumb blocks ala Bonnie Hunter. First one to speak up gets them! Tuesday, September 04, 2012. Wanted Baptist fans. Was I brave enough to try them free-hand? Sunday, September 02, 2012. I love ...

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter: February 2012

http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Thoughts from a disorganized quilter. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Just in the nick of time, I made myself finish my February UFO. It has been quilted for over a week - but since I hate do bindings, it sat here, taunting me as the end of the month drew closer! To start the month, the top needed the final borders and then the quilting. As I was putting on the binding this morning, I got around to the fourth side and discovered this little problem! Somewhere my math went awry! Saturday, February 04, 2012.

Scrap Happy Quilter: Mailbox Treasures

http://scraphappyquilter.blogspot.com/2013/01/mailbox-treasures.html

Thursday, January 10, 2013. Here are the wonderful treasures sent to me by Nines. Our youngest son is adopted and she shared these adoption quotes with me. They are from Talking Quilts. She had made a quilt. Using the Scripture Quotes for her son, I left a comment about how neat it was and where could I get the quotes, then a few emails later, she sent these to me. They melt my heart! Then there was this wonderful surprise in the package too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Look Whos Mowing the Lawn.

(Disclaimer: I have not made this yet, but I have seen it and smelled it so I know it works. Just haven't tasted it. I will update when I do.). I'd say this is the perfect kind of snack for the kids to make as it only uses a very few dishes; the mix and water and the microwave. No HOT ovens. Have fun with the ingredients and don't spare the Whipped Cream! 1 box of angel food cake.
