The Blog of a Catholic Mumma with 7 children (one in Heaven and six running around) and open to more. So We Took a Vacation! February 4, 2014. We traveled nearly 3500 miles, visited lots of places and friend, got the stomach bug, and most importantly, played in snow! After the Arch we headed over to the Cathedral of St. Louis. Wow, just wow. If you haven’t been, I recommend going, it’s beautiful! We headed north to Iowa, and stopped in the small town of Leon, where my father’s parents are buried...

The Blog of a Catholic Mumma with 7 children (one in Heaven and six running around) and open to more. Of Ice Cream and Husbands. Of Ice Cream and Husbands. November 14, 2014. Yesterday I was nursing a sore throat, so I sat on the couch and looked through old emails, some over 11 years old and from Joshua around the time we were engaged. Sweet, mushy, filled with hope and great excitement for the future. However, those are not the reason for this post. Filed under: General Stuff. Add a Comment Cancel reply.

Lord, Make Me a Saint: June 2014
http://makemeasaint.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 24, 2014. I am seriously thinking of enrolling my oldest two this year. We have always used a little of Catholic Heritage Curriculum and Seton. (the "I watched this video 7 times a day was not me) Any High School Seton users out there? What are your opinions? Friday, June 13, 2014. Look at how excited these two littles are to help! We first mixed up the names. Then, put them back in the bowl. I told her to draw a name. She then, told me that she doesn't know how to spell, so,. The only disa...

The little house in the big yard. Just another WordPress.com weblog. In the big yard. In the big yard. So the final tally of plants is this: zinnias, cosmos, morning glories, bachelors buttons, possible hollyhocks, sweat peas and that’s about it! A very delicate matter. So just for today:. With 6 orange trees on the north side of our home full of orange blossoms, the smell is so heavenly! We love to sit and read in the front room just to enjoy our natural perfume. Another plant for the generational garden.

April 8, 2015. Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog, on Instagram (#yarnalong), or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! I had a stupid knitting week. I spent more than an hour ripping back a few rows of this blue shawl. I started reading The Hardest Peace. I am half-reading ...

The Hunger Games by Susanne Collins. I have to admit, these are a really good read. In fact, in a rare binge, I devoured all three over the course of a week, and it only took me that long because I had to wait for the month to reset so I could get the last volume downloaded for free to my kindle. Two whole wasted days! May 25, 2015.

Doorstep Bakery: Orange Marmalade
http://doorstepbakery.blogspot.com/2012/02/orange-marmalade.html
Thursday, February 16, 2012. The girls and I made delicious jams all summer with produce purchased locally. Many times we would go to Farmer's Market on Saturday and turn our berried jewels into lucious jams by Sunday. We sold out of every jar we made. Our recipes are unique and we enjoy working with them. The marmalades were nearly sold out as well but I had saved back two jars of our special Orange/Myer Lemon Marmalade for the family. I was waiting for a dreary day to bring out the stashed away jars.

Signs of Faith and Love: August 2012
http://signsoffaithandlove.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Signs of Faith and Love. Come, Holy Spirit. Sunday, August 19, 2012. Well, life sure likes to increase my indigestion! My oldest son doesn't want to go to Mass any longer. Not because he doesn't believe in God. That, in itself, is good news and gives us great reason for hope! However, he said to me that he doesn't really get anything out of the Mass (not even in the Eucharist - which shocks and saddens me) except the homilies. He does enjoy Father Jon's homilies and the morality in them. Grant to me, an ...
