FAQ | Prêt à Voyager

Why did you start this blog? Who designed your blog? Not going to lie, migrating the blog wasn’t very fun, and had lots of technical glitches. I was going into your archives and some of your posts look really wonky. Why? Will you follow me on blog / twitter / instagram / pinterest / etc? I want to start a blog. Suggestions? Why did you move to France? Do you think the French are true entrepreneurs? I have more than a few things to say about it too in this podcast episode. The way I see travel you shouldn...
The Art Of Travel Posters | Prêt à Voyager
http://www.pret-a-voyager.com/tag/the-art-of-travel-posters
The Art of Travel Posters. There’s a really awesome feeling when you realize that so many things you’ve worked on the past come together to form another project. This week I kicked off my latest Skillshare class, The Art of Travel: Create Your Own Tourism Poster. For years I’ve been taking pictures of posters on the walls of the metro that inspire me. One of those posters for Morocco even inspired my thesis on tourism and new media in Morocco. After my Map Making. Map Making: http:/ skl.sh/11RQ8Ig. On Sk...
Imaginary Maps | Prêt à Voyager

Jerry Gretzinger’s Imaginary World Maps. A few years ago I happened upon the magical mini documentary. Who has been making maps for decades. While the places he maps don’t actually exist, the maps aren’t aimless by any means. He has a systematic way of making them, where a special deck of playing cards tells him how the next map card will develop. It’s fascinating. So you can imagine my excitement when on @PalaisdeTokyo’s Instagram. Exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo. Follow me @pretavoyager on Instagram.

To bring European buildings alive at night. Even if you’ve seen. Prepare to be amazed. Then visit his website. To see all the locations (they’re even mapped! It definitely highlights the blending of old and new in Europe, and there’s a way that viewing the buildings after dark allows them to see them in a new light (however, they couldn’t be shot too late for fear that the lighting would turn off). Bahasa Beach: Perfect November Afternoon
http://bahasabeach.blogspot.com/2012/11/perfect-november-afternoon.html
Football in the sunshine, a healthy snack, new books from the library, a mountain of candy, coffee with baileys and rubbish TV (during nap time I just realized we have E! Dubbed in French) and finally tea and Trotro with Papa. Pretty perfect fall afternoon. Born in London, went to school in Michigan, fell in love in New York, married in Spain and had a beautiful baby boy in Paris. Tales of my nomadic little family. View my complete profile. Have a Beautiful Earth Day. We love South East Asia. A CUP OF JO.

Bits and bobs for you this week. Even though Massachusetts has just made it illegal to ask about your previous salary. I still think employers will try to find creative ways to bring up the topic. Here are some excellent answers. When someone asks for your salary requirements. This is the first ever paid editorial illustration I’ve had published! It was so fun and I hope to do more. The longest day | News Girl About Towns
https://newsgirlabouttowns.com/2015/06/22/the-longest-day
News Girl About Towns. Self discovery, while discovering the world. Who’s that News Girl? It was one of those days. Those days when you can’t decide what to wear. Those days when you spill coffee on your shirt seconds after leaving the house. Those days when you choose another outfit only to leave the house again and find it’s too hot for what you finally decided upon. Those days when the denim slip-on sneakers you washed are still too wet to walk in. Logistically-speaking, I blame it on the yoga. While ...

News Girl About Towns. Self discovery, while discovering the world. Who’s that News Girl? From oh la la to olé! Beans beans, they’re good for your heart. Beans, beans, they make you DART around Paris looking for the black bean or refried variety. France, it seems, just doesn’t do Mexican. But back to the beans. Rather than actually cook, drain and fry Pinto beans in lard to make my own refried concoction, I managed to find some canned chili-esque mixture with corn that I drained and mashed up. Aka sour c...

Bahasa Beach: We love South East Asia
http://bahasabeach.blogspot.com/2012/12/we-love-south-east-asia.html
We love South East Asia. Visiting Brunei for a wedding, Kota Kinabalu for some post wedding parties and Bali to see old friends. It's hard not to fall in love with this part of the world but we will be back in Paris before Christmas with lots of photos and some new freckles. Born in London, went to school in Michigan, fell in love in New York, married in Spain and had a beautiful baby boy in Paris. Tales of my nomadic little family. View my complete profile. Labor less, Flow more | News Girl About Towns
https://newsgirlabouttowns.com/2015/05/01/labor-less-flow-more
News Girl About Towns. Self discovery, while discovering the world. Who’s that News Girl? Labor less, Flow more. Today is a holiday in France. It’s Fête du Travail,. Or more commonly known to us as Labor Day. Schools and most major businesses are closed, leaving the streets quiet, save for birds chirping and the many makeshift florist vendors selling bouquets of Lilies of the Valley on every corner, roundabout and metro exit. Off to yoga I went. The teacher the amazing Amanda Dates. Let me stop for a sec...
Home run | News Girl About Towns

News Girl About Towns. Self discovery, while discovering the world. Who’s that News Girl? Since I’ve been spending so much time waiting on queues for baguettes. I decided it’s also time to make some sort of workout or “sport” as the French call all forms or exercise a real priority. You see, are the new cankles. I know what you’re thinking: You’re small, Sara. Stop it with the body dysmorphia! But, you see, that’s the thing. I. And eat a lot of it, too. And so, a more steady workout routine it is! I also...

Prêt à Voyager
The best worst travel story ever. We were four hours into our journey when they made the announcement: we were turning back and returning to Paris. We all pulled up the location map on our monitors and let out a collective groan. We were HALF WAY THERE! They have to be kidding, right! Our flight still was going to be 8 hours, except now we were going to end up the same place where we started. How to get jelag without actually going anywhere. 8216;s wise words came in handy:. And I didn’t have to de...
