Bookies & Milk: February 2010
http://bookiesandmilk.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
I've got a library copy of Gone With the Wind, a quart of milk and all these cookies. Wow! So says Neely, from "Valley of the Dolls". Saturday, February 13, 2010. He references a lot of things I have to look up to get. And at the risk of sounding like somebody on Yahoo! Labels: On the Road. Wednesday, February 10, 2010. YOU in the afterlife. This you have to see. Your eyes hurt, and you itch, because you can't take a shower until it's your time to take your marathon two-hundred-day shower. I'm so looking...

Bookies & Milk: July 2009
http://bookiesandmilk.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
I've got a library copy of Gone With the Wind, a quart of milk and all these cookies. Wow! So says Neely, from "Valley of the Dolls". Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Quarter in a mud puddle. After reading the first of the 13 stories in Elizabeth Strout's "Olive Kitteridge," I wasn't sure I was going to like this book. How can you like a novel if you can't like, or at least relate to, its protagonist? Each of these stories reveals a new side of Olive through the eyes of her fellow townspeople. Angie has played ...

Liberty in All Forms
http://miles-madigan.blogspot.com/2008/04/im-still-trying-to-restructure-this.html
Liberty in All Forms. I made the best meatloaf that I have ever tasted. Here is the recipe:. 1 Put three slices of fresh white bread (crusts removed) in the food processor and blend until all is crumbs. Put aside in bowl. 2 Put one carrot (roughly chopped), one celery stalk (strings removed, roughly chopped), one-half yellow onion (roughly chopped), two crushed garlic cloves, and one-half cup fresh chopped parsley. Blend until finely minced. Place in bowl with crumbs. I've started to work out regularly:.

Liberty in All Forms. Some photos of knitting! Here is the scarf I made for John David. It is long! I don't understand why the scarf is always a first knitting project; so tedious during the last half. And here is my next project. Cable knitting. Reminds me of when I did origami. I will post more about reality next week. I have a busy weekend of packing, moving, and unpacking. I will post pictures of our new apartment soon. We took a taxi back to Brooklyn and collapsed on my air mattress for a long nap&#...

Liberty in All Forms: News Flash: Artichokes Are Disappointing
http://miles-madigan.blogspot.com/2008/06/news-flash-artichokes-are-disappointing.html
Liberty in All Forms. News Flash: Artichokes Are Disappointing. Artichokes are the most unsatisfying vegetables in the world. I decided to try steaming them today, and it took up all my energy and patience and all without a single satisfying bite. The recipe called for a homemade lemon mayonnaise, which itself almost caused a breakdown as I had to visit the store a second time to buy more eggs. Blend one large egg (at room temperature) with salt and a squeeze of a lemon half in a food processor. Carefull...
