https://purlgamer.wordpress.com/2014/04/28/fennel-ale-part-1
Thoughts and strategies from a knitting-obsessed gamer…. April 28, 2014. Fennel Ale – Part 1. My first sweater. (I hear a chorus in my head sounding in a crescendo of amazement.) I love it. The awesome instructor Ann (here is her blog. Picked the Pumpkin Ale pattern by Ysolda Teague ( Rav link. 8220;No.” I mumbled. A worried asymmetrical expression crept upon my face. She mirrored my concern, “We want everyone happy with their projects, and even Ann says it is challenging.”. I ended up using Berocco Vint...

Thoughts and strategies from a knitting-obsessed gamer…. May 7, 2014. WIP Wednesday 5/7/14 — Vacation Knitting. Silly startitis. (I stole that word from the blogosphere… not that clever.) I didn’t want to lug my lovely almost-sweater around with me on my trip down to Dallas, so I packed a skein of sock yarn and my size 6 needles. I cannot seem to stop with the triangular shawls. Three stitch cast-on for that much loveliness? April 28, 2014. Fennel Ale – Part 1. The awesome instructor Ann (here is her blog.

Because wool fixes everything. WIP Wednesday – it’s the yarn that goes on and on my friend…. May 14, 2014. More of the never ending story round these parts I’m afraid! Working two fingering weight yarn projects is not exactly prime for progress shots, ha! The good news is I’m on the home stretch for both my spring socks and the custom stripes. Now if I could only buckle down and be monogamous to one of these projects, id be golden! How to choose…how to choose. Aldo distracting me this week? Gingko cresce...

I also transposed my ‘greetings Earthlings’ colourway into self-striping socks! In super cool exc...

Because wool fixes everything. School’s out for summah! Cheers to Another Year! August 6, 2015. Its so hard to believe, but my innaugural year of being an Indie Dyer is coming to a close! It’s been a very exciting year for me, from my first skein, to my first sale, to learning how to do stripes, to creating the infamous No 2. Pencil socks! Some of the most memorable things this past year have been a wee incident where wool caught fire in my dyeing microwave…that smell is unforgettable, haha! Hi Amanda, W...

Because wool fixes everything. January 2, 2014. Seems I’ve abandoned you this holiday season. Sorry about that! I was caught up trying to survive in the whirlwind of Christmas with three young (and very very excited) children, a fun old fashioned family road trip Christmas to visit my big brother in Montreal (bonjour! Then back home to pack up my baby girl who was flying with my in-laws to Winnipeg! But, I digress…. Winter-peg hit a balmy -47 while girlfriend’s been there, just a bit nippy! Then to top i...

Exploring the world through hiking, running, cooking, eating, making, and playing]. Asymp; 4 Comments. I’ve successfully turned running into a contact sport by falling very ungracefully onto my knees and hands. Mid stride. On the pavement. Let’s just say face plant pavement = a lot of skinned appendages and road rash. On the bright side, no lasting injuries and I didn’t actually hit my face! Oh well, it’s given me time to write about the projects I have completed since January. Here’s the back. Pattern&#...

Because wool fixes everything. Category Archives: Throwback thursday. Throwback Thursday…the very beginning. December 5, 2013. I haven’t been knitting as long as, well, probably pretty much any of you. My first pair of needles were put in my hands by Christina. At the time I was more into sewing, and was following the sew liberated. Blog, where the author was pregnant. She showcased this amazing Stella pixie hat. And I fell in luuuurve. Of course it’s a favourite! So knit I did. And fell right on my ...

Because wool fixes everything. Nothing screams “go away snow! 8221; like watermelon! Toronto’s knitter’s frolic! April 29, 2015. Despite spending the weekend at a dance competition in Hamilton with my girl, she and I made a quick trip to the frolic to gorge ourselves on the yarn fumes. Purl Friday - knittin' pretty
Other people worth their. String and two sticks! Friday, February 08, 2008. A trio of armwarmers for the workers. I'm still singing the praises of Last Minute Knitted Gifts, this time for the speedy wristwarmer pattern. Yes, you could have figured it out yourself, but I needed a recipe to coax me back to my needles. My mother asked me for some wristwarmers for herself and her colleagues, who work in a wonderful converted barn that is less blessed in the heating department. Link to this post. This is a lo...

March 1, 2011. When I woke up yesterday morning, it was freezing cold and raining. But not just raining. It sounded like someone was hovering outside the bedroom window, pelting it with ice shards. A specter, with this message: Guess what? It's still the bleak midwinter here in central PA, and you're wide awake at 5 am. The specter was right. Our yard was a giant, semi-frozen puddle of sludge. Snuffy would not go out, and Lucy stood in the rain, baffled by the thunder and shivering. Or the Music Man?

Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Readers, Knitters, Crocheters. It's been too long since I've actually updated this blog with what's going on with my knitting and crochet projects. And I've been working on it on/off since April:. I have to say that I did make a few mistakes. They're not major ones, but they're juuuust noticeable enough that I hesitate at the thought of entering this piece in the Washington State Fair. I'll wait until it's completely finished and blocked before making any decisions, though. I spl...

Okay, so $12.95 isn't that. Bad but I am that. No progress on the dress from below. I haven't even started. Maybe I'll start on that this weekend, too. Links to this post. Friday, May 05, 2006. I have this pretty blue and white fabric, with these tiny little flowers on it, that would be perfect for the dress. I ...
