From the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), take exit 10 (Auburn) and then take Route 395 South to exit 4A (Sutton Avenue, Sutton) and proceed East on Central Turnpike 4.5 miles to the first stop sign (Blue Jay Restaurant). Turn RIGHT (South) on Putnam Hill Road and drive 0.4 miles to the top of the hill. Putnam House is on the left.

Your hosts, Margaret and Martyn Bowden, are transplants from the British Isles who have now called New England home for more than 40 years. Martyn is a Professor of Geography, who has an extensive eclectic library of books and records and whose consuming passion is soccer! Margaret is an educator who also reads, gardens and quilts. Birdwatching and walking are favorite hobbies both share together. The two are "wedded" to their house, and can retell many historical stories from past Putnams.
