Rach and Dave

Thursday, July 29, 2010. Howdy folks. We've been a bit slack at keeping this blog updated. in fact, the last time we blogged Rach wasn't even pregnant, I hadn't been to Ausie and we didn't have our latest addition to the family! I'm sure you REALLY want to hear about the trip to ausie, but I'll first discuss the latest addition to the family! What's more, Rach gave birth naturally and WITHOUT pain relief. What a trooper! At midday we received the discharge papers and we left for Helensville Birthing Unit.

At her wedding next year (2009 seemed impossibly far away when we started talking about the date, now it's on our doorstep! Thanks for all the yummy food everybody (and thanks for manning the barbeque, Andrew). We had a fantastic afternoon in the sun - hopefully nobody got sunburnt! Who made the trip up from Wellingt...

Rach and Dave: Hi!

http://rachanddaveouwejan.blogspot.com/2009/09/hi.html

Monday, September 14, 2009. Sorry again for the lateness of posting - it has been a crazy couple of months. JJ is really no longer a baby, he is running everywhere (usually cackling madly). He desperately needs a haircut as you can tell from these pics, doesn't bother him though so it's not high on the priority list! He still makes more noise than actual words but here's the current list of words he will sometimes say (in order): Dad, Hi, Dog, Cat, Mama, Ta, No, Bye, Bird, Pig, and Mower :-).

Wednesday, December 17, 2008. The kindness of strangers. One of the mums on a geeky parenting website I belong to organised a secret santa with the various mums and mums to be. Warm fuzzies all round - I loved that the mum I sent a present to posted that she liked hers so much it made her cry (possibly something to do with her pregnant hormones! Mine arrived today and I was so hugely impressed with part of it (she also gave me a christmas recipe book and some gorgeous cookie cutters! Posted by Mrs O.

Once or Twice a Week: Kepler Challenge, done

http://lukebaxter.blogspot.com/2008/12/kepler-challenge-done.html

Once or Twice a Week. Few people think more than two or three times a year; I have made an international reputation for myself by thinking once or twice a week." George Bernard Shaw. Sunday, December 7, 2008. Kepler Challenge, done. Well, there it is. My project for the past 6 months, and go-to topic when people ask what I'm doing instead of work, is all over. I'm no longer 'training for the Kepler Challenge', I'm officially just 'hanging out for the summer' (which is not a bad thing, by the way). At the...

Emily and Peters Travels: The Pyrenees - In Training

http://peterandemily.blogspot.com/2010/07/pyrenees-in-training.html

Emily and Peters Travels. Random posting of our trips. Sunday, June 20, 2010. The Pyrenees - In Training. In training for what? I hear you ask. Well as Peter and I are both not in our 20's any more and as we have always both wanted to do some trekking in Nepal we have decided that we are going to trek to Everest Base Camp in October of this year, so we thought we should get some training in before the trip on some proper mountains. Emily and Peters Travels: Everest Base Camp Trek

http://peterandemily.blogspot.com/2010/11/everest-base-camp-trek.html

Emily and Peters Travels. Random posting of our trips. Sunday, November 07, 2010. Everest Base Camp Trek. Both Peter and I made it to Everest Base Camp with the rest of our group and returned safely to the UK with no major mishaps. When I thought about writing our blog for this trip I decided that a day by day account of the trip would be highly boring for you readers so I have instead decided to talk about general areas to give you a little feel for what it was like. Accommodation, Food and Water.

Emily and Peters Travels: Costa Brava

http://peterandemily.blogspot.com/2010/07/costa-brava.html

Emily and Peters Travels. Random posting of our trips. Saturday, June 26, 2010. Travelling to the Costa Brava from the Pyrenees was perhaps one of the strangest days weather wise I have had. We left St Beat and it was drizzly and about 10-11 degrees, not too bad really. We finished the trip in bright sunshine and about 26 degrees (that's more like it for a summer holiday! Emily and Peters Travels: Burst Water Mains and Shopping

http://peterandemily.blogspot.com/2010/01/burst-water-mains-and-shopping.html

Emily and Peters Travels. Random posting of our trips. Saturday, January 09, 2010. Burst Water Mains and Shopping. Well we are still surrounded by snow and a lot of it. More is forecast for tonight and once again we have a weather warning for snow. So a couple of my kiwi friends are asking how it is affecting life for us, so here is a little tale (and also an excuse of way we still have no photos). Well done on finding the water mains, what a mission! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://peterandemily.blogspot.com/2010/02/bit-of-update.html

Emily and Peters Travels. Random posting of our trips. Saturday, February 27, 2010. A bit of an update. So for my 30th birthday this year we went to a pub in Oxford for pies and drinks. I was stoked to discover that the pub I had chosen served steak and cheese pies! Perfect. It was a lovely night shared with some work friends and also a couple of friends from NZ (Nivi and Alistair) and my dear friend Lisa. It was a lovely evening and a great way to celebrate. Once or Twice a Week. Few people think more than two or three times a year; I have made an international reputation for myself by thinking once or twice a week." George Bernard Shaw. Thursday, January 3, 2008. What a fantastic month. It's the end of almost a month of idyllic Kiwi summer, and time to get on a plane back to a freshly snow-dumped North America for some boarding. All in all, a great time. And as per the picture, the pohutukawas are in bloom. Home sweet home! Posted by Luke Baxter.

Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Farewell to North America (done 5 ways). One thing I've learned so far: I'm no travelblogger. History in the Making

History in the Making. Tipp is 2 months old. Tipp's second month of life has been an exciting and busy month. We had Christmas in Troy with everyone, the Smith's, the Boutwell's, and the Abbeville family. We did a lot of traveling and spent our first nights away from home. The week before Christmas we spent the night with Daniel's Dad and Step-Mom. Tipp did great! He slept in a crib for the first time and loved visiting family. Singapore Slinging!

2007 marked the beginning of the end for England. In no particular order, the country fell prey to bird flu, foot and mouth disease, the worst flooding in sixty years and the death of the banking system as we know it. In short, it was time to shape up and ship out. So from Swindon to Singapore, here are the edited highlights. Welcome to Singapore Slinging…. Monday, February 28, 2011. Here's a selection of Abigail's latest tricks:. I do love a spot of horse riding. To kick-start my day. Still, after a bit...

ramblings of a sleepy mind

Ramblings of a sleepy mind. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Friday, February 4, 2011. I have a ton of catching up to do on the blog, but for now I'm just going to focus on one important person. Courtney Diane Anderson is here. She was born at 9:51pm on Thursday, February 3rd, 2011. She was 8lbs, 12oz (at 38 weeks! And 21.5 inches long. Whew, where to start? So, we had a couple more ultrasounds than usual to track her weight gain. Not that I minded, I LOVED seeing pictures of my sweet baby! For Father's Day ...
